wendy-cake 0
We all seem to have been waiting for ages. And there are some places open, but it hardly seems worth the effort. When is that first real decent 50cm dump going to arrive?? Sorry, just frustrated.

Plucky 0
Ummmm, check out the report for Hachimanti Forest. They got 50cm yesterday. Sorry south people. It will come though! Don't know about everyone else, but it got damn warm here today. I was going to go to Hakkoda, but the 12 degree temps kept me off the mountain. Instead, scored some great waves behind the house Today was nicer than most summer days we get up here. Weird. Que the music for the snow dance...........
Fattwins 0
plucky im burning skis tomorrow so get ready for a dump. it was quite cold in kyoto today but cold in kyoto is like 9 degrees. a good mix of warm and cold with the added fattwins skiburning will bring the dump we need. mattlucas 0
You could always just go and have fun on the groomers. Who knows maybe you will have some fun. I've been two times already and had a great time on both occasions.
Ocean11 0
I wouldn't sniff at a go on a decent groomer now. If only one could be found nearby...
Roger's head 0
Er, which groomers? Hardly a big juicy choice out there now is there?
mattlucas 0
There are lots of hills open. Sure not all of them but the ones that are will give you some enjoyment. I would hit up Happo again in a heart beat and if I wasn't going north this weekend I would be there for sure.
veronica 2
The places I want to go to have no/little snow. No groomers there. Hopefully soon
Glen Falting 0
Speaking of fun and groomers... just got back from 4 days at rusutsu spent mainly on groomers. Brilliant blue skies and hardly anyone on the mountain. By ducking the ropes, we even managed a handful of powder runs on the groomers that the resort had kept closed on Thursday and Friday, so the weekend visitors would have some fresh stuff to play on. enderzero 0
You're telling me they were 'saving' the snow for other people? I think it is way more likely they just didn't want to pay the people it takes to keep the whole mountain open.
Glen Falting 0
Ender, you may be right, it's just my guess, but at least some of the runs seemed to be fine (i.e no worse than the others) and a couple were subsequently opened on Sat. No doubt some were a bit dubious and for safety reasons they were kept closed, but that didn't seem to slow people down. At one stage there seemed to be more people heading under the ropes than using the authorised courses.
fukdane 2
Even though its snow today, still nothing to shout and rejoice about. Clearing up as well this afternoon.
ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
Do you mean of snow or rain Have you seen the state of Yuzawa - looks pathetic still.
nekobi 0
hmmm, i think it happened this weekend... started snowing friday in nagano and didnt stop til saturday night . my car in omachi was buried... could only see it by the sideview mirrors sticking out.
damian 0
You bet Nekobi, it was nuts in the Hakuba area and I hear further south was just as deep... or better. This is one of the first times I have appeared on the scene at the right time: big (first) dump, crap weather for days then on Sunday morning, I arrive and the weather is perfect and the powder abundant. It was lucky perfect timing and man, about time. ps - there is quite a lot of snow in Tsugaike. I saw pile that were close to 200cm deep. Considering what there was lat week, this is amazing.
