I picked vegies in Carnarvon too. I remember the stone hut and the cave. There were some Kiwis living in it. They would make a trip into town once a fortnight to pick up a dole cheque and supplies.

I was talking to some guys one day when all of a sudden an 8 foot shark, that must have been feeding in the shore break, ended up high and dry on the sand! A few flips and it got itself back in the water. We were stunned.

Sick waves today. A solid 6-8 foot super clean south ground swell.

Big bro got the bomb of the day. Not bad for a 48 year old cripple.

The Law got the pig dog pit from hell.

Mantas, well he didn't do too bad for a 44 year old spastic.

How'd you go Indo?

Too bad.

We are lucky in that we have a beach that sticks out and faces south. It picks up all the swell and it's offshore in a Nor-easter. Most of the big swells we get are storm affected junk, but this was a clean indo type swell.

Is anyone riding a short fish? I jumped on my mate's young fella's last weekend and really liked it. I then took it out in about 3-4 foot surf and still had fun.

Think I might get one to keep me interested doing the summer puss.

Mantas, I have a 6'0 - 21 -2 1/2 fish. It's great fun especially in average surf.

Had a bit of a mishap in sloppy surf today, something went wrong whilst doing a floater & instead of landing it, my board flipped over and my ass landed on centre fin.

Needless to say, fin snapped off and plug ripped out. Was worried that I would now have 2 assholies but making it to the beach confirmed that I still only had 1! Side fin spared my gonads thank god! Now I have a twinnie!

yeeoooww, the ol fin up the date job. Doesn't get much wronger than that!

6'0" might be a bit short for me. The one I rode was 6'3"

I had a surf on the mal this arvo. I made sure no one saw me.

Aussies back on top.

World mens champions Mick Fanning.

World women champion Stephanie Gilmour.

Reminds me of the good ol days.

Kintaro- I'd love to watch the Eddie and Pipe. I rather do that than tickets to the superbowl.

I was going to congratulate you/your country but when I checked, I found out that Greg Long from California won the event. Nice try, though.

Anyway, those giant waves were a nice distraction while waiting for the snow. But now that snowfall is imminent, between the North Shore and Niskeo, I would choose....Shiga Kogen, because Niseko is just too damn cold.

No worries Joumba

Pre Slater and Irons, the Aussies ruled world surfing. Slater raised the bar so high he dragged the performance of the whole tour up with him.

Check out how many times an Aussie came runner up when Slater came onto the scene.

sweet mantas! should be a good opportunity to compare a quad set-up with a thruster in similar conditions and try to understand how they actually work.

i've only ridden a few quads. found them fast and maybe a bit loose. sort of like a modern twin. would love to have a zippy responsive quad for small down the line waves. like a 3ft sand point or something..
