Markie 0
Another reason to go to Tokyo. Krispy Kreme, my favourite donuts will be opening in Toyko soon so I don't have to fly to N. America to get them any more.
sava 0
Heh In Aus a couple of years ago there were queues and queues at krispy kremes. Now... not
Markie 0
I can certainly understand that. When I was in Canada and first discovered them, I bought them in 2 doz boxes all the time. If I had stayed there for a bit of time I would probably have gotten sick of them after the initial euphoria. They are incredibly fresh and good-tasting though.
guzzlers-baps 0
It sounds like I should not even try to discover them for fear of gaining a lot of weight!
ncorrenti 0
I had my first Krispy Kreme experience at Sydney airport earlier this year and I am a huge fan. Best donuts ever!
tsondaboy 0
I havent tried KK yet, but I find the ones from DONUT PLANT NEW YORK very good.

Ezorisu 0
They opened up a KK on Maui a few years back, but still none on Oahu. I think Tim Horton's has better donuts...
brit-gob 9
What is so good about them then?
minus 1
I used to really like Cinnabons or whatever they were called but haven't had any for ages.
kintaro 0
All of this enthusiasm for kK got me thinking wether or not one would work in Sendai or Oahu. So I checked into the KK franchising requirements. You need US$30 million minimum net worth to get your foot in the door. Anyone want to pool our money together? I'm just shy of $30 mill. short. muikabochi 208
I can spare 100,000 yen. That help? I would want it based nearer to me though, perhaps Nagaoka city?
King Of Nails IV 0
I love them too... wish there was one near me.
happyhappy 0
Asmuch as I love things like that, I'm glad there isn't one near where I live. Too tempting.
Oyuki kigan 0
I'm going to Tokyo on Sunday. Will it be open by then?!?
Ocean11 0
Just looking at the Krispy Kreme website made me want to throw up. Anything glazed with sugar is just too disgusting to contemplate eating.
damian 0
Thank you! I didn’t want to be the one to say it (yet again). It disgusts me to see what people shove in their throats. Makes me sick. I read today that myspace.com is the most popular website in America, beating Yahoo. Crispy Crème, My Space…. It is all the same. The majority of people consume empty garbage and it makes them happy. Scary: these people also vote and raise children.
BagOfCrisps 24
They look pretty yummy to me. (Maybe because I'm really hungry this morning and ready for lunch). I must not be posh.
damian 0
I know you winked, but come on… Eating a meal of potatoes from dirt, small tomatoes from a vine, cheese from a cow's udder, fish from a pond and washing it down with beer brewed with water, yeast, malt and hops then following up with a sliced apple and natural yoghurt (the udder again) with honey from a flower and a bee. Sounds like a great meal and none of that is "posh", indeed it is common natural produce, something the average Brit, Yank and suburban Australian has forgotten all about. I find it amazing how eating what was once considered normal food is now considered "posh", whilst proudly ‘down to earth’ people feed themselves and their family a poisonous diet of coke, pre-made packet meals and reality tv. BagOfCrisps 24
Perhaps sometimes I just want something sweet and yummy? They're not something I would want every day but from time to time, look good to me.
js 0
I've had them a couple of times just to give 'em the benefit of the doubt, but still find them bloody disgusting - somehow they're got a chemical flavour and are just overly sweet with no other taste. If I were to eat donuts, which is rare, I prefer the good old tried-n-tested ones like those from Donut King or Wendy's.
viv&kev 0
Are they similar to Mister Donuts?
happyhappy 0
I only had them once but liked it. I can only cope with so much sugary stuff though there is a limit.
cheeseman 1
I rather have savory myself. I think if they opened a cheese shop in the same vein as these doughnut shops, they would be extremely popular.
Markie 0
Just got back from Canada where I loaded myself up on Krispy Kremes and even brought a dozen back to Hong Kong, only to find that a Krispy Kreme outlet opened exactly one day after I returned to Hong Kong! Not complaining or anything but for those of you who remember the ol'slim Markie, say good-bye to him.
