BagOfCrisps 24
Whats all this "winter food", "summer food", "spring food" lark then?
Ocean11 0
Unlike any other country in the world, Japan has four seasons. Each season has a characteristic kind of food, and TV ad. You get athlete's foot ads in the summer and hotpot in the winter. You have Kirin 'Autumn Flavour' beer in due season, and some really quite explicit condom ads in the spring. Winter foods are coming into their own now. We don't eat baked beans on toast all year round like the English you know. (Oh, by the way, I made up the bit about the condom ads). lin 0
We had some great nabe (is it called?) last winter. Made in front of you boiling away with lots of seafood and vegetables. I can't remember the name, but it was real nice and the noodle restaurant we were in said it was a winter speciality.
