Just an FYI: Baird Beers brewed in Numazu won a bunch of awards at some international contest. They have two Taproom bars in Tokyo (that I know of); one in Naka Meguro and one in Harajuku. The Harajuku bar also has yakitori. Good beers (no connection, just letting you know if you're looking for a place to down a few). http://bairdbeer.com/en/taproom/nakameguro-taproom http://bairdbeer.com/en/taproom/harajuku-taproom

Those guys had some really funny stuff, especially the temptation game when a guy or girl would have them set up their lover to check his/her fidelity. Many amusing moments! -

Well, to me the most annoying thing about Olympics, summer or winter, has always been the insipid nationalism. I'd like to see done away with the whole national uniforms, flags, anthems, etc. When it comes to sports, I definitely fall into the ``one-world'' category. -

Tub, I said doing your best, not taking part -- although I would say taking part is quite an achievement, any of you gold-bugs ever made it onto your nation's Olympic team? no? not surprised. [[(does the US still believe it is the center of the Universe? wink )]] fixed it ferya! -

It's not about the medals; it's about doing your best. -
Not a fan of his bully-boy attitude, but there's something slimey about this.

Fat Tax - Travellers in favour

Mamabear, you were on a flight that had an entire ROW of empty seats! Don't think I've seen that in at least eight or nine years. Almost every trans-Pac flight I've taken in recent years has been completely full in zoo class. -
OK, Rob! Show up at the homefront and you can share a can! Have to say the forums are a lot more fun with a can of Classic open within reach!

Scored six 6-packs of Sapporo Classic at local supermarket today, thanks to Hokkaido Fair . Putting one away for August when I'll be desperate for a reminder of the sweet January pow .

Hmmm, I don't seem to remember suggesting any of you use the US as a measuring stick. I think we've reached the theater of the absurd here with Mantas working on some creative fiction project while GN acts out what he accuses Americans of doing -- insisting that other people shoud emulate what he thinks is the proper way to live. JA, it was an interesting exchange. See you around.

JA, Well I don't think we're really all that far apart, but can I then assume you divorce yourself from (for example) Australia's recent crusade to force-feed its ``morality'' on the rest of the world in regard to the hunting of whales, or so-called climate change? I doubt any gathering of human beings anywhere for any reason can claim a completely clean slate when it comes to dealing with the practicality of the world, and I equally doubt many nation states (that have been put into the position of dealing with such practicalities) can claim a significantly cleaner pair of hands than the

That's going to be a pretty good drive, though a lot of it via expressway. I'd estimate easily 4+ hours one way.
