  1. Hope my lady is still there in the van selling octopus balls, VERY yummy after a hard day on the snow. Not into Irish Pub or hamburgers whilst in Japan.
  2. PP You are a braver traveller than me re winging no accomodation. I booked mine May last year. You will have a great trip. Have fun!! Still 34 days for me.
  3. Saw MANY Kebabs being eaten on New Years Eve most of which were being eaten by staggering, swaying, eyes half closed individuals. It must have been the bliss of the kebab that was making them like that.
  4. WOW 2 days before you leave JA. Where are you heading and how long?? I still have 34 days to go.
  5. Very controlled New Year as I knew we were getting up early and off in the boat all day. Nothing worse than a stinking hot day, out in the sun with a hangover. I will do my celebrating when I go on holiday.
  6. I agree JA - In today's security conscious airports you can't leave your bag alone anywhere without causing major alerts. You would think that an unclaimed bag would be quickly looked at.
  7. HAPPY NEW YEAR - Health and Happiness to you all I hope 2009 is a great year for everyone
  8. I ski all the time by myself - I am not as advanced as the rest of our group so they all go off for the day and I do my own thing. Gets lonely sometimes but I don't mind. Your girlfriend should give skiing a go, the Family Ace Run in Niseko is AWESOME for beginners. There is only going to be limited things for her to do if she doesn't ski. You can let her know that there is a 5 storey shopping centre in Otaru that is a must visit without partners !! Oh yeah and what about the crazy Pachino arcades!!
  9. Not a great start to the holiday. I hope the rest of it goes better and that by the time you read this you have your baggage.
  10. JA Sounds like you did okay. I was spoilt and Loved all my presents - definately none going back this year.

I live on the Gold Coast so swimmers are an essential addition to our wardrobe. Better go cheer myself up with an episode of Vicar of Dilbey!
  14. AH WELL another Christmas over and done with. ATE WAY to much, Drank a little to much back in training tomorrow. How did National Lampoon's Christmas Go!!! Family enjoyed merriment with Punch & Eggnog, (not mixed together)not a good combination especially as I had made them and were both HEAVILY laden with Alcohol. One family member decided not to dirty anymore glasses and decided to drink straight from the bottle of wine, much to the amusement of the grandparents. Then broke out in a rash all over and calling an ambulance was on the cards. Big Brother managed to

  18. I must admit as a tourist we had been told you HAVE TO go to Otaru the canals a spectacular. Sorry I didn't get it. Everyone was slipping and falling on the ice along the canal. I did however find the HUGE shopping centre much to Mr Snowhunters disgust. Did enjoy myself there though!!
