  1. torihada, Good story, i'm glad I got a pair BEFORE I found out the hard way. I went for the R.E.D. wrist protection, the DaKine was a close second, but was a bit uncomfortable for me. -SJA
  2. Yup, Everybody loves Bob Marley, everywhere I go it's the same old story....BOB! -SJA
  3. That's funny....el nino put snow on Fuji. El nino is global - but the dude is one tricky dude....He's hiding my snow, and he won't give it back. I'm gonna tell mutha nature to beat his ass with a twig! -SJA
  4. I usually choose the line that has the least people and will get me on the lift the fastest. At the lodge, I choose the line that has the curry and beer. And when fishing, I usually choose a strong line for catching Bass. -SJA
  5. Yea, it's easy to bust a wrist when you are snowboarding...not only from trying to break a fall, but when jibbing goes wrong, all kinds of stuff can get broken. I'm gonna try a butt pad this year as well, more for the warmth than the protection...last year at Gala, my ass turned blue it was so cold from sitting in line at the kickers in the park! -SJA
  6. We talked about helmets a couple of weeks back, but does anyone use any other safety gear? I'm thinking about using some wrist guards and knee pads this season for the first time. What's everyone elses safety kit and what's been your experience with it? -SJA
  7. Can we get a point of view shot from inside the phonebooth looking out? -SJA
  8. another alternative is to record sound on a seperate device and sync them up during editing. If you are able to get a mic to go with your camera - you'll want to stash is somewhere that won't catch too much wind noise or the audio will be worthless. -SJA

Yea, that's what i'm talking about - The west coast of the US is the place to be in an El Nino. I'm heading to Cali in Feb, but in the mean time, i'm going to sacrafice another live chicken on my balcony tonight for the snow gods...chicken soup anyone? -SJA
  10. Geto is the bomb....small local mountain - cute little country girls, and soft fluffy snow, what more could you ask for????? Ok, a dancing midget troup would also be kewl... -SJA
  11. Yea, I hit loon mountain last year and it was like boarding on glass in the morning and slurpee in the afternoon. I hit Killington a couple years back, good snow - but colder than a witches tit. -SJA
  12. Let's hope that Mutha Nature drops a load on us this week - my board seems to creep closer to the front door with every day that passes.... -SJA
  13. Is it just me or has the forum been DOG SLOW the past couple of days. Must be the El Nino.... -SJA
  14. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16176207/ Indeed, it's been one of the warmest years on record. Thank goodness there was a bit of snow over the last couple of days. Sacraficing that live chicken over the weekend helped afterall! -SJA
  15. Yea, I did some research on this and it looks like all of Japan (from Hokkaido to Okinawa) gets a bit warmer. It should be dumping snow on the west coast, but only a little bit so far. Let's hope it gets better, I'm Hakuba bound next weekend.... -SJA
  16. Post office - that's your best bet. Just look for the Red T mark. -SJA
  17. aren't most of the New York resorts in Upstate New York (FAR from NYC)? -SJA
  18. I usually burn through 10,000 yen per day so bring wads of cash. If you are uncomfortable leaving it in your hotel room - you can stuff it in your pants, should give you some nice padding incase you take a mean spill. -SJA
  19. what's wrong with making money off a sport that everyone loves? Not all of us can afford helicopters to get to the peak so I have to thank the resorts for puttin up lifts, jibs, and jumps. I sold my soul to the devil for a lift pass...let the jibbing begin! -SJA
  20. I hit "Geto" in Iwate like 10 years ago - the snow there was awesome - light dry and fluffy....
