there's actually a discount snowboard shop in kanda. I think the name is liberty but I forget. Actually, if you do all the shops down that street (between kanda and shin ochanomizu) you'll be able to figure out what's best for you. There must be over 20 shops there

19 days to date. Should be a good season for me.

I fell getting off the lift every single time for the first 3 days. By the end of the three days I had it down and only crashed occasionally. I miss those days....when I could smash myself and it didn't hurt

i take boots that are a half size smaller than my regular shoes. You should have no heel lift at all. Oh, and remember the boots pack out after a couple of days, so they should be real tight in the store

make sure you check the run first. a couple of years ago some pro snowboarders in Whistler were coming down in the dark after a special filming session and they ran into some metal cables strung across the run. They got messed up real bad.

I just got the burton hifi too. It's really good.

vd = valentine's day. Toque, today was awesome! good pow and the peak was going off. Not perfect, but a really good day

today it snowed some more. got some decent pow (not like japan though) except that there are lots of sharks. got a core shot 2 days ago and I was lucky not to get some more today. Did Spankys today. Peak is alright, top of vd trees is good but the bottom is crap. it was raining too high all last week. Same for the rest of the secret spots - top is good (if not tracked out already) and the bottom is nasty. Toque, you should have more snow when you get there.

I'm in Whistler right now. I sent you a pm about the boards. crap weather but got some pow runs on 7th today though

All the shops in my area have straps for sale. I bet you were trying to buy capstraps when they first came out a couple of years ago. This was to stop people just adding capstraps to their old bindings, without buying the whole package. Makes business sense to me. ' Everyone says Burton has a great warranty however it only applies if you have your warranty card. Lost it? You are screwed.' I don't know any other snowboard company that warranties without a receipt or warranty card. For that matter, electronics and tons of other things are the same.

That is quite a jump in price. 28,000yen for the freestyles...49,000 yen for the sl8's. I think those guys were looking for something affordable. Rulers are only 3,000yen more than the freestyles , that's a good deal imo
