Nozawa today

You're right muikabochi, on both counts -
Does the idea of people being able to use keitais on a plane make you feel "goody-goody, I can text my mate 'hey I'm on a plane'" or does it make you red with rage? I say - please, NO!!

I was at Nozawa today. Bit annoyed with the weather people - all the reports had us down for a fine day but it was a bit gloomy with lots of low cloud, especially in the afternoon. Nice to get up there though and conditions up top were really nice. Bit icy down below. I uploaded some fairly uninteresting pics and a very uninteresting video. I'll do better next time. PS SJ I really love the way that the uploaded photos now come out much clearer as you upload them this year on that new system. Going to be a great season. -
Buying gear in Japan
iiyamadude replied to nee.down's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I had just noticed this on sj http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hakuba-guide/hakuba-gear-and-rental.html They seem to do gaijin sizes, interesting to have a shop catering for that. -
Anyone able to explain to me the difference between shibui and nigai. I have it down here both as "bitter". Thanks!

Green as in environmentally friendly, not color. Back home many people are now replacing the normal bulbs with ones that are a bit more friendly to earth and the like. Do they have them here and anyone know what they are called in Japanese? Thanks.

They're getting weirder all the time. I just got one with the subject line: Worm Toilet Horse Stomach Slave

Distance
iiyamadude replied to skichef's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
It is about 1 hour drive from Hakuba to Nagano City. It's then another 1-1.5 hour drive from Nagano to Shiga Kogen. More in bad conditions of course. -
The mario game - get past the cutest characters - is excellent. Might even get one for myself after playing some of that.

$16,000 a month on clothing! Just think how much that would increase if she actually bought panties! -
Is that like the deep-fried bread?

Same here. Well about 2 weeks in advance probably. I'd like to meet some people though sounds like a good idea to me.
