  1. Yes it really nulls out any interest in the place. I see 'Mt Kosha' very much as a damp squib rather than something that is going to challenge Shiga Kogen. See the empty slopes, top lift weekday not working and 1/5 of the area closed this season as just some pieces of evidence.
  2. That sucks. I suppose most times when a new house goes up, someone's going to be not too pleased about it. There's only so much assurances you can have of stuff like that though isn't there, I suppose.
  3. Don't know about that. X Jam has a 'Macearth' relationship with Madarao and Kurohime Snow Park.
  4. Makinoiri is sort-of connected with Kijimadaria. It was closed for a few years but opened up for the "grand opening" of Mt Kosha. But it obviously didn't work so good because they closed it for this season again. You can see it here
  5. Top lift just open on Saturdays, Sunday and holidays. Makinoiri resort area closed this season after starting up again last season when Mt Kosha started.
  6. If they don't get more people to go, there won't be a long game to play for. I highly doubt Ryuoo will be joining them. And it's not connected anyway, though that's not the reason.
  7. When was that taken? Distinct lack of snow everywhere other than the run!
  8. 20K sounds like reason enough to get out today. Those bare patches near the top?
  9. Don't you know, the rooms are nicer on a weekend! And less people on the slopes, so better on mountain!
  10. You're just so wired in Pete, I'm so impressed. Like I said next time really looking forward to your second hand reports direct from Australia.
  11. Er no, I was in Nozawa... as I am most days. Was there since 7am. That is why I was able to say that it was not raining. I actually live about 7km away. Got some kind of problem with that?
  12. Yeah it started to rain after but it hadn't been for a while. But it wasn't when you said it was. Stop posting stuff as if you are there and correcting people who are. You are posting second hand info, from Australia. I live (almost) there. I eagerly await you future weather reports directly from Australia.
  13. I hope all you naked skiers are re-considering your actions, given what happened in Niseko last week and all.
  14. In April you don't neeed to do anything in advance. Every accommodation and company out there will be happy to take your business. There is hardly anyone around. There is absolutely no need to book so far in advance.
  15. Yes there is that as well. I neglected to mention sorry. I suppose it depends on whether you prefer buses or trains!
