  1. Ah yes the strawberries and cream sandwiches. Now they are strange.
  2. It's not Niseko vs. Anywhere but Niseko, keba. It's Niseko vs. Hakuba, and it's pretty much a one-sided laughable 'argument' (if that's the correct word) pushed by the southerners.
  3. This may well be wrong, but from what I understood the costs go something like this 400,000 yen over the first 4 years (ie. from when they start reserving the place, before they die) 10,000 yen a year after that. Doesn't include the grave itself just the 'parking space'.
  4. I like the events here, though I live in a small village (near a city but far enough to be separate from it). It is a good change to get to know people and as someone above said people tend to get on so much better for that short time. Got something on tomorrow night I think, I'll be checking it out.
  5. I liked it there too. But just not enough people going. You're in a nice area, but don't expect huge mountains. But enough to enjoy though. Make sure you do.
  6. G/F family is from Morioka, a bit further north from me but go fairly often.
  7. I have a rather sombre experience today. With the g/f at her parents house and we took a visit to their proposed cemetry site - sounds like they have already decided where they will be buried and made plans for what kind of gravestone they are having and the like. The father stood on the piece of land (in the cemetry) and said "how's this for a position then". He was quite jolly about it. Not sure how things like this work back home even, but wondering if this kind of planning is normal.
  8. I have an itouch. Great little machine, love to be able to use the web on that screen with wireless. It is just so much superior to any phones out there.
  9. Other than a few other problems I've had these last few months/weeks, I am doing quite well this year so far concerning hayfever. I hope I'm not talking too soon there.
  10. I'm worse - combination of not being very well and not going out that much this winter.
  11. Anyone here got a private onsen in your own house? I suppose the first question is if this is even possible, I'm assuming it is if you are in the right place and get some kind of permission or whatever.
  12. Quote: and the potato butter flavour are amazing with beer! They are spectacular aren't they. Well the thick ones. Oh yes, very nice.
  13. Snooze just annoys me as well. I just have the alarm set for the latest possible and get up there and then.
  14. I'm same as you kokodoko. Can't see what the big fuss is to be honest, though it's always the same few who make the fuss (not on this forum in particular but in general)
  15. Definitely manual for me. You expected the DVD player in the second row to be region free? Doh!
  16. I'm no expert, but I'd say a trip round Tohoku would be something you would really enjoy.
  17. I have been out of Japan until last week so still on a very unspectacular "0". I hope that will change very soon though.
  18. Interesting that there were only 2 foreigners there. I wonder why he employed overseas staff?
  19. Just posted this elsewhere on the subject of Furano, but is there any particular reason why they are apparently relatively strict there?
