  1. I'm in Muikamachi Niigata (not too far from Yuzawa) and it's really coming down, tons of snow around. It looks like it will be snowing for the next few days as well, so it might just clear up and be perfect for the weekend Toque.
  2. How come sunrise? I quite like 'Jokoku'. It's not too far from where I live. I think lots of people just don't get to find 1/2 of the resort over the other side and to the left , some good courses there.
  3. Welcome! Thank you I do my best. I really like Zao - I think it's one of the best places out there. And I would not worry about crowds... there really don't seem to be any anymore.
  4. Scousers provide endless entertainment. Seriously, a good scouser is an excellent friend for life. (Just keep an eye on those tyres).
  5. I saw Catwoman. Even Halle Berrys costume could not redeem it.
  6. No, Hakkai san skijo is part of the Evil Empire. Oops, sorry, the Prince group.
  7. Not the name, the prefecture. I'm staying within Niigata this season to do my bit for the ken, but some people seem to travel around a lot. So how many kens you ride in this season so far then?
  8. Friendly people tho they dont have a tour that I know of. They have an expensive restaurant at the brewery. About the resort forgot to say it is very "not busy" this season.
  9. Brilliant, only just found that. Is there any more things like that out there to laugh at?
  10. Left handed and goofy. I don't look like that picture though, not much anyway.
  11. Strange request maybe, but does anyone know of any "ride over Tokyo" helicopter ride service??
  12. That thing's huge. Will take a few years to be able to get on it anyway.
  13. You talkin' bout my town there? (Muikamachi) Hakkai-san sake is good. They have a brewery as well making a decent beer - incredibly called "Hakkai-san". Same company. Not mad on the resort myself a bit too bumpy for me, but a great mountain to look at and climb in summer too.
  14. I've donated lots to the Niigata one, being nearby and all. All out of donation funds for now.
  15. I have a friend who's a takyubin guy. He works really long hours and also at the weekends, really bizarre holidays for this guy. Decent salary though.
  16. ...they speak back to you in really really bad English. There's this one guy I know who insists on speaking in English to me when I try to speak to him in Japanese. My Japanese is nowhere near perfect, but it's a damn sight better than this guy's English which is almost non-existant. Very annoying. Does anyone else find that?
  17. It just amazes me how I can order something yesterday evening from a shop in Nagoya and it turn up here at 11am today in Niigata. I'd love to know the route it took, and how it's all organised. Obviously I can guess, but it'd be good to know the reality.
  18. Quote: an izzy was usually characterless and designed for cheap food and crumby patrons I wonder is that because you were in Tokyo? Are izakayas much different in country areas. Where I am theres a good selection of really good places - good atmoshere, good food,.. .really good times to be had. (There are of course some crappy places here as well of course) I've never been to an izakaya style place in Tokyo, so don't have anything to compare to. Anyone?
  19. Thats mad, some people must be absolutely nuts to attempt things like that. Numbed to fear?
