People in northern Japan - working today?
A lawyer replied to gnarly-dude's topic in General off-topic discussions
No work today too -
Another fan of the 秋味 here. Love it. In fact, when will they stop selling that? I need to buy a case near the end of the run to last me.

I went to Hawaii once but really wouldn't want to go back. This summer I am hoping to take a trip round Austria and Switzerland.

Clash of the Titans. Looking forward to it though I still feel disappointment is inevitable. I'm really looking forward to the Aliens project from Ridley Scott.

That's what they said on the progam I say. Is that a Japanese company? -

Ski lifts without safety bars
A lawyer replied to SKI's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Those one man lifts are scarily small though. Do any one man lifts have any lind of safety bar? I can't recall seeing one. -
I'm interested to hear if there are any other people deciding to go to Niseko this season instead of Hakuba, perhaps after the experience of last season? I know of a few people overseas who have done that. They were thinking of doing Hakuba this year but made the decision to go to Niseko this coming season based on what the season was like last season. Now I'm sure that some people will think that is just ridiculous - but people are doing this. Anyone else heard stories like that?

Naeba vs Kagura
A lawyer replied to Don Katsu's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I think Kagura often seems overhyped. It takes ages to get to Kagura from Mitsumata and back again. There's lots of gentle 'road slopes'. The lifts at Tashiro are mad slow. There's no real reason to use the Dragondola other than if you are staying in Naeba and wanting to ski at Kagura. The snow is often very good though best in the area. I just prefer somewhere more compact. If only it didn't take so much time. -
Good luck with that. People get all irrational when panic stations hit.

Noisy area but the place is pretty well made for cutting out the noise, so inside it isn't too bad.
