not "hot wine" but "mulled wine"?
tsondaboy replied to slow's topic in General off-topic discussions
When do you use wine when you cook Slow? It happens that I always have some bottle(s) of wine in my room. I also use it a lot when cooking, my favorite recipe is pork fried with wine and oregano. Yummmmmmmmmy -
I always wear a helmet and I have also convinced my Japanese friends to buy one. The funny thing is that one guy said that the only reason he is going to buy one is because he feels cold only with a toque. I ve noticed last time on the slopes that there are more Japanese wearing a helmet this year. It could always be my imagination though.

tsondaboy replied to dizzy's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I started doing it by myself this seazon. Last year that I was using the cork wax I was doing it every night before I ride. Now that I am ironing it I do it every 2 times on the slopes. -

Naeba/Kagura
tsondaboy replied to bcoasis's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Just came back from Gala Yuzawa. The Southern area was closed all day and the northern area opened around 12 in the afternoon. -
I don’t hold any stocks in the uni. travel agency so I don’t wanna start advertising the place. But in general that place has some good offers and worth’s checking it out if you are close by. Never been to Gala myself, I usually go to kagura. I just wanna try it once and have an opinion about the place.

It depends on the transaction you make. Some need some not.

Quote: I recommend late January to top February because students are busy to prepare examinations so usually they are not at ski slopes. Less crowded which everyone prefers I think there is a hint there! I just submited the thesis, gam, so I will be storming the slopes again startning from this friday. Whatch out!!!!

There are cheaper plans than the official JR page guys (and girl). For people in tokyo, that are close to bunkyo-ku I would suggest to pay a visit to the Tokyo-University travel agency. They have a plan for Gala shinkasen+lifts 7700 for weekdays, and many more like it. I will be trying it myself this Friday. If anyone is interested and don’t know how to find the place let me know, I can show you the way, I am almost all day in the f***ing lab.

Japanese run names
tsondaboy replied to marnix's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
yes they say "seppuku". Kanji is the same but in reverse order. i.e. 腹切= harakiri 切腹= seppuku I ve heard that harakiri is a word the first guijins that arrived in Japan made. It is not originally a japanese word. -
nothing special. Its just the Greek alphabet in capital and small letters, till I find something better to write.

Quote: tsondaboy, I go there for lunch sometimes. It's just five minutes walk from my office! Isn’t that kind of an expensive place just to go for lunch? If we are talking about the same place, that is. I can`t remember the name for the one I am talking about, what’s the name of the one you are talking about slow?
