  1. I'm sure there are those people too. Might be a good thing in that way getting all the oldies together and socialising more than they would. Our local community center seems to have that going on weekdays at the moment too.
  2. Interesting how the hardware is generally excellent build, yet the software leaves so much to be desired.
  3. Watched the Benjamin Button movie over the weekend. It was ok but I was expecting it to be more affecting at the end.
  4. You have to find a way for them not to spoil your important holiday again. Bottom line.
  5. The price is putting me off. Maybe when the price comes down.
  6. I knew there was a gyudon thread. Had one from lunch at Sukiya and thought it was fairly decent for the price especially. Not a bad lunch to have.
  7. Yeah what is it with Asahi, they are all over in many of my fave places as well. Prefer Kirin or Sapporo myself
  8. MI6: The History of the Secret Intelligence Service 1909-1949 Pretty interesting it is.

  10. I know it's one of those small little things but it just annoys me when you buy something and try to take off some stickers and find that it either leaves a bit mark or you can't without making a mess. Bloody annoying I say! There, just had to say it /rant.
  11. Are landlords usually ok for an aircon? I can't imagine them saying no, as long as you pay for it and I presume pay for any patching up when you leave. What's involved in a patch up anyway?
  12. The Kings Speech. Wasn't fussed before watching it but really enjoyed it.
  13. Not usually into those but the Mentalist is really good actually.

I have to look up at a light that easily sways to see if we are actually moving or not (and then check the JMA website to see if there was one or not). Absolutely. Strange sensation. I want it out of my head.
  15. Perhaps she was making a lot of cakes?
  16. A small selection of todays "Comments", the pulse of the people Quote: Sorry George, I think you should brush up your skills on nuclear power. The accident at Fukushima is worst than Chernobyl. In 1986, the nuclear reactor was entombed in cement. Now highly radioactive water is leaking into the sea which could affect the people of Japan from generations to generations. The BP disaster will be a drop in the ocean (no pun intended) compared to this contamination of the ocean wich will last for millenue - c WHY is this not a top headline?? Why is none of the press covering
  17. Hard to imagine what it must be like having your home, your town, totally destroyed in an instant like that. And family/friends killed. I was reading some towns have had their records wiped out too, so there's not backup records of the people who lived there. Nightmare, must be totally overwhelming. All the more remarkable the way people are coping. Respect.
  18. You still confident this will all be getting into a huge fuss panic no reason, GN? (Obviously serious situation but not enough for people to flee the country)
  19. The Times prints utter bollocks as well, even if written by their own reporters "This almost feels like the last straw. After an earthquake, tsunami and nuclear explosion, the survivors are now subject to a blizzard in the middle of March when they should be taking off their winter clothes and waiting for the cherry blossoms." Er no, not in the mountains of central Fukushima.
