Lift tickets outside Japan
69 replied to Error404's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Do costs vary in other countries depending on the size of the resort? Always seems a bit strange that resorts with one lift charge almost the same places that are so much bigger. -

"The Snake Binding Torture Chamber Part 3: Three Sisters under a Curse" Actually it was crap. It does not belong in this thread. Good ones? I enjoyed watching Gladiator again, the newer version. And Chicken Run was good -
Quote: I bet some married blokes project fake pride for their wife and kids to impress other women. I bet some women lap it up too. I know one of them. And his mistress (who is a colleague) thinks he's such a good man because of it.

It's like most Japanese places - not much of a nightlife going on. I think there are some bars, but don't expect anything wild. Haha. Same goes for most places though unfortunately. -

Quote: Tom Cruise gives his usually shit performance Got something against the Cruiser? He put in a good performance I thought. Did everyone who saw it here in Japan get the "Hello Japan...." bit at the beginning by Peter Jackson. Basically when the lights went down for the "feature presentation" up comes PJ saying "Hello Japan, I'm making King Kong check out the trailer" and then they showed the trailer for KK. (Was t

Knee surgery! Ureshii!
69 replied to Oyuki kigan's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I think human knees should have been designed to have been stronger. The number of skiers I know who have duff knees now is incredible... -
The sticker in my shower - very helpful
69 replied to joshnii's topic in General off-topic discussions
I have a sticker on the back of my front door (the side inside the house) that helpfully tells me to lock the door if I want to increase the chances of me not having intruders. -
Those odd experiences are often the best. My brother came to Japan and went traveling on his own a few years back. He was somewhere near Kyoto and was really hungry - he ended up ordering (or at least getting) okayu ("liquid rice" is the translation he got ) at some place that turned out to be a place for monks. Not sure why he mistook it for a restaurant!

I have one. And very happy I am with it as well. There doesn't seem to be much difference between them all now - it's just about image, battery life and size of disc.
