I wouldn't be surprised if some people are just put off Japan. I must admit that before I came here I didn't know much about earthquakes or even consider it, but I can see how some people might not be more wary now that 'Japan' and 'earthquakes' have a much more headline profile. Their loss, we may well think, but they are are people who are not emotionally or financially invested in Japan and so are simply making decisions about where they want to go in the world. And there's a fair wide range of choice of places in the world, hey. All of us on here are either living in Japan or are ve

Are you sure the people were just being awkward, or worse still taking advantage. I don't think I have ever seen a rental place that insists you have the whole lot. -

On the subject of beer. Does anyone like it when they first drink it when they are a teen? Or is it just a to be cool thing? I remember hating it.

An interesting topic for sure and I took up SJ-David's suggestion to continue that line of discussion in http://www.snowjapanforums.com/index.php/topic/21436-long-video-feb-18-to-the-20th/ Black Mountain - interested to read what you wrote about you used to working for a record company. What did you do there? What was their way of going about the downloading issue etc? Personally I have never downloaded any music (legally or otherwise), I still love CDs. I hope they don't die out soon.

24. I have started re-watching 24 and it's just brilliant. Start watching and just don't want to quit! Any more like that?

Sort of passive aggressive? Keep an air of innocence but at the same time have a go. Always annoying! Seriously, can't see how anyone in their right mind could say that these forums were not friendly. The level of 'attitude' here is way way low. Some people probably don't like it for that very reason, I'd imagine. But I like it as it is.

Smelly the snowboarding cheese
69 replied to panhead_pete's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Funny one, Smelly, though. Did he think he was too good for the main cheese at resorts thread or something? I agree with kokodoko, you can't live the celeb lifestyle and live on the publicity and then suddenly expect privacy. -
OK I have 2 computers in my room and I'm a bit fed up of using a USB card thing to move big files from one to the other. Is there a way I can sort of link them preferably without cables in a network so that I can easily share the hard disk drives so to speak and grab files from one to the other easily? Both using Windows 7. Is that even possible? Treat me gently please.
