Are there big differences really? We had a look at a few and they all looked quite nice. I'm no building expert but they all seemed similar kind of things, just plans and shapes different. What sort of things would you paritcularly look out for?

Don't know what the place was called but it was near that central area where the traffic lights are. Didn't seem any different from most other resorts I've been to here.

I was up there just the other day and rented some brand new - never used before - skis. I've seen crappy old places in every resort I have been to. Sounds to me like you are either just unlucky or have something against the place in general.

Anyone been to any good local obon festivals this year? I am not feeling well and wasn't able to go to mine, but went last year and it was a lot of fun. I even did a bit of a dance.

I was speaking to a Japanese friend about this last night. He seems to say that this Yanagisawa bloke is generally quite a smart guy, even though this comment sure wasn't. I'd never heard of him before. My friend was quite drunk though and has been known to think silly things )

In my limited experience, Saturdays have been busier. People seem to start leaving early Sunday afternoon.

Has anyone heard more on Arai? Didn't someone buy them and plan to open it next season? Who was it that bought them, was that announced?

I don't really push myself at all, just finish when I feel ready. An hours rest at lunch is recommended though it does the knees and thighs good.
