It wasn't that bad from where I was. I was at Kagura, and the snow was decent - certainly not spring like. Last year in mid Jan there was about 2 weeks when it was frighteningly warm. Then the snow came back. We are just in one of those lull periods right now, another few days and it will probably have changed once again.

My Japanese friends went to Kandatsu Kogen last week on Wednesday. They said it was almost empty - zero waiting time. Crowded slopes - those were the days

Actually no. They are usually awful and a pain to get to interesting stuff. This one really is great - best one I've seen. It's really come to life since last season.

I once saw a UFO. It was fun. No little green men though.
