  1. There sure is. And the snow usually covers a fair bit of ugliness.
  2. A well planned trip up here (Yamagata/Tohoku) would be a good experience. You do need more days though.
  3. Having to put a dog down can be an extremely traumatic experience. I know my family was cut up about it for about a month after it was a very sad time. Dogs are great. Just wish they lived longer!
  4. I've had a decent time as well. I think it's places more to the east that have been having a hard time this season.
  5. Not that near but I like the place, been a few times. The times I have been it has not been busy at all and decent>really good snow.
  6. Seen a few around Yamagata as well. They look sad. It seems they do keep them up there and leave to rot rather than take them down.
  7. This is a funny little vid I got sent on. About a gaming convention and some of the "booth babes" in Korea. View it not for the cultural education value. http://swedishfish.ggl.com/index.php?Video=2510
  8. This might be an interesting read for you http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/working-at-japanese-ski-resorts.html
  9. Where I live in winter its really cold - so kerosene heaters going - and hot in summer. It seems to take its toll on books. I need to store them better so they don't go all old and crappy within 1 year. Any tips?
  10. I was not impressed. Kong is looking awesome though. Will be in the queue to see that at the weekend.
  11. I thought that place was hilarious. There's Ninja Village in that same area as well isn't there. And some go-karts if I remember correctly.
  12. No not that one oo, there is actually another place called "Western Village" with that western theme.
  13. A few places in Yamagata. Liza World is ok, but that might have something to do with the fact my friend works there and a few freebies come my way. Nice snow.
  14. I really liked Zoolander - it is meant to be full of cheese. (I think!)
  15. I say the same - keep at it. Many large Japanese companies do seem to take absolutely ridiculous amounts of time to make a decision. I hate being ignored as well in situations like this thogh, it is annoying. What is 石の上にも三年 misorano?
  16. That blokes back is doing seriously weird shit in the 1st pic.
  17. It was...... difficult. Almost no chance of passing I think, unless lots of my guesses were correct.
  18. gamera - turkeys often last a long time. You end up having turkey meals for days on end - turkey casserole, turkey pie, turkey everything.... you get so fed up with it you need a year to recover and get ready for more turkey.
  19. The Smiths. Then again, probably best to leave alone.
  20. I find those blacked out gums really freaky - what's going on with that? I wear a face mask when it's cold but only then. More often than not though here in Yamagata it is COLD!
