justaddwater 0
Anyone any top tips on how to minimise sweating (apart from not being in a hot place) Anyone else here sweat A LOT.
nzlegend 1
dont drink too much, find a balance, where you are still urinating but not dehydrated, if you excessively hit the bevvies you will sweat more!
DumbStick 13
Don't drink too much? I would have thought the opposite were true (if it was water...)
nzlegend 1
I have experimented and when I chug the water in summer, say more than 2litres in addition to other drinks tea, juice etc ( regular day - no strenous exercise) I sweat like mad, but if I drink sensibly , enough and no more I dont sweat as much. NoFakie 45
Many people probably know this, but if you wear a shirt and tie, be sure wear a t-shirt under your shirt. It's counter-intuitive because you think it would make you hotter, but it soaks up the sweat and protects your outer layer.
fukdane 2
NoFakie is right. I thought it was mad at first until I wore a purple shirt one day and ended up very embarrassed at how public my sweating had become.
cheeseman 1
Eat cheese. Not only is it delicious but it is also nutritious and fun for all! (And stops you sweating. Maybe)
MistaSparkle 0
Cheesman... I just wonder at 400+ posts exclusively regarding cheese, do you ever get tired of talking about one thing, and one thing only?
damian 0
The t-shirt under the business shirt may absorb sweat, but its doesn't make you sweat less. It does actually make me quite a little hotter.
mattlucas 0
If anything drinking more water will help. Sweating isn`t so bad. Just have to get in the habit of carrying a cloth or small towel around everywhere to dry off. I can usually never get enough water. Sure I sweat like mad but water just tastes so good. 2pints-mate 0
UK commuting has been hot and somewhat smelly in the evenings this last few weeks. Luckily it seems temps on their way down. Heathrow hit an all time high of 37.4 or something the other day.
slimeypete 0
Get some of those sweat pads you can put under your shirt underarms. They can help a bit on bad days. But definitely putting a t-shirt on under shirts is a good idea. Best idea is to work in a job that don't need no shirt and tie
Fattwins 0
i sweat a lot but i only wear nylon shirts the breathe well. its also hard to see the sweat marks.
HotMagma 0
Me too. That and wear a tshirt under your shirt.
miteyak 0
It took me three years to be convinced of the T-shirt deal, but now i'm never without it. Not only does it stop the sweat showing, it actually seems to slow the sweating down. Has to be 100% cotton, however, same goes for the business shirt... (for those of you who like yer acrylics, I want to hear from your friends that they work in summer, not you!)
mikazooki 0
i'm backin the yakman. before i was afraid to go into public because of my unsightly sweat stains. people would laugh and stare. i felt like a real outcast. but uniclo changed all that. i got 3 tshirts about a week before this thread started and now im a new person. the girls no longer snicker when they glance at me and i have the confidence to go anywhere i please. thankyou tshirt. u've turned my life around. badmigraine 0
Get a cup of smaller ice cubes, and swallow one every five minutes. If you can't get it down your throat, just suck on it and let the icy water trickle down your throat.
grungy-gonads 54
Anti-perspirant. Chill out. Drink a lot. Works most of the time
scouser 4
Losing weight and being in good shape helps too
rachael 0
I find I sweat less when I am in better shape and fitter (is that imagined or real?). The smell of sweat on some of the commuter trains in the evening in summer is almost unbearable
rach 1
A good sweat don't do anyone any harm! I have seen some poor individuals though sweating uncontrollably on the trains in mid-summer - they forgot their t-shirt under work short thing. I felt for them.
Ocean11 0
Our estate agent who is a rather attractive woman came round yesterday to tempt us into buying a house in the neighbourhood. Dressed in a black suit, it was not surprising that she was sweating profusely and dabbing furiously with a little flannel. I rather enjoyed watching the beads of sweat form on her perfect white skin and then rolling down into her hair. It took a great effort of self-control not to say anything about it when so many possibilities were springing to mind.
oo 1
I don't know what they're called, but little pad like things that you can put on the underarms of your shirt and they stick there - they help keep your shirts in decent condition when you're sweating continuously.
