Stefan 0
certainly NOT New Zealand....! Talk about chokers! Only kidding they were the best team to watch in the tournament and deserved at least a final showdown against England. As for who'll win it,well I'm supporting the English for the first time in my life...."swing low sweet chariot" ....ahem. I couldn't stand to see Australia win another world cup, they win to much stuff anyway.

Its this old tune which English Rugby fans love to sing, its synonimous with English rugby( the whole stadium sings it) they always sing it when the team goes well, or to spur them into action. Watch the final and you will surely hear it.
neversummer 0
I don't think you'll hear it at all. Maybe the first verse, because from then on you only hear the roar of Austrlians singing louder. The English have their Anthem sang first then the Aussies, then Waltzing Matilda although this is not an official song, then game time. It feels good to be there Kamo. Ocean11 0
Swing Low is a very good lullaby for putting small children to sleep, although Waltzing Matilda also works.

Stefan 0
I recommend the antithesis of swing low... You can stick your ****ing chariots up your arse You can stick your ****ing chariots up your arse You can..... (sung to the tune of "She'll be Coming Round the Mountain when she comes.....") or Bread of Heaven, Sospan Fach, Delilia, Flower of Scotland. all far Superior rugby songs
I_HATE_CHEESE 0
Swing looooooooow sweeet chariot!!!!!!!not long now to kick off!
miteyak 0
Mr Matthews... May I suggest that at an England/Wales game, the song be; 'We will stick our ****ing chariots up your arse" especially considering that said chariots are usually well and truely lodged up wales's by the end of most games... Here's hoping for a right royal supposit by the end of tonight...
Stefan 0
Best of luck to England today! Hope you give the Aussies a good stuffing, the 'Pommie Bashing' that has gone on down under has been pretty disgracful. They seem to want to win by fair or by foul means. So on behalf of my Celtic bretheren: "Swing low sweet chariot!" Come on England
Davo 1
I'm off to see the wheels fall of the chariot or the wallabies shot and stuffed. It'll be entertaining either way.

nzlegend 1
Hey Scouser did you see that? was it boring? that was a fantastic game! I was rooting for England. (The Aussies on the rugby newsgroup would be unbearable for 4 years if they had won). Australia have won it twice, it was good to see another team have a turn. Here is some interesting info In 1991 Australia lost their No.8 and best forward Tim Gavin to injury on the eve of the World Cup In 2003 Australia lost their No.8 and best forward Toutai Kefu to injury on the eve of the World Cup In 1991 Australia was coached by a former Randwick forward who never played for Australia In 2003 Australia was coached by a former Randwick forward who never played for Australia In 1991 Australia won a crucial match against Ireland by 1 point In 2003 Australia won a crucial match against Ireland by 1 point In 1991 Australia upset the All Blacks in the semi-final In 2003 Australia upset the All Blacks in the semi-final In 1991 England won their semi-final without scoring a try In 2003 England won their semi-final without scoring a try In 1991 Australia was captained by a halfback In 2003 Australia was captained by a halfback In 1991 the Australian starting XV had 9 players playing for or originating from NSW In 2003 the Australian starting XV had 9 players playing for or originating from NSW Even external events are ominous: In 1991 a President Bush declared war on Iraq In 2003 a President Bush declared war on Iraq In 1991 Penrith won the rugby league grand final In 2003 Penrith won the rugby league grand final In 1991 Home team lost the final In 2003 Home team lost the final tho only change is In 1991 Australia defeated England in the final In 2003 England defeated Australia in the final!
