xxx 2
Recently I really don't want to go to most enkais that I get invited to, and am running out of good ways to turn down the invitation. It's usually "I'm busy" or "I'm not feeling too well", but they get really tired. Perhaps I should try just "I don't want to go!"
dale#1 1
All 3 of those work with me! Some of them are difficult to get out of, but I do most of the time
indosnm 0
use any excuse BUT not the truth! Everyone knows that your excuses are crap but will accept the BS excuse. The truth... thats another story!
scouser 4
Bizarre isn't it. Definitely not the truth.
grungy-gonads 54
My colleagues must think I'm the busiest most social guy alive, the excuses I come up with. (Next Friday is a big event at the Embassy. Yeah, right! )
Yuki's Passion 1
Maybe its because I had cool people to work with but I love going to enkais - just getting hammered with the coworkers and speaking Japanese for a few hours is always good fun. Just make sure you dont blurt out that you wanna eat some of the sushi off of your sexy coworkers naked body People may look at you strange
dale#1 1
If they are paid for by some funds other than those in your own wallet, they do take on a more positive light of course.
rach 1
Thats right. First of all find out discreetly if it is already paid for or will bust the bank 5000 yen. If paid for, you can then go for it if you want to, silly excuse if you dont .
Siem Reeves 0
got one next friday that will be 10,000yen!!! but, i'm conveniently in hokkaido that day

scouser 4
Hey I've been/invited to quite a few ichiman enkais. That usually includes the "meal", unlimited drinks (yeah, right - for 2 hours), and a nijikai.
Davo 1
If the social club manager ,or whatever, needs you to pay ichiman for pissup and a feed, he's either a completely incompetant tool or he's lining his pockets.
veronica 2
Not necessarily - I've been to some at amazingly extravagent hotels, with fantastic meals - would have cost a fair bit more than it actually did (11000 yen) if it wasn't in the deal that we got. Not exactly my type of do, but it was impressive all the same.
rach 1
I was invited to a 17000 yen one once, not even a stopover - just very posh hotel. I think I was washing my hair that night

LiquidX 0
I'm missing something here - health?? We talking Japlish here?
cal 6
Paying for "health" services. nudge nudge. My office doesn't seem to have many, and I have recently enjoyed the few we had more. A place I worked at before it was just overkill, there seemed to be an enkai every few weeks.
xxx 2
Some good ideas there. I've asked a few Japanese friends, who always say "they lie". I'm just not really into the idea of lying all the time,
yodel 0
I tell the truth to my friend, and adjust the truth to the others. I think people know anyway.
