The Black Bear 0
A question coming from Scotland here. In the peak of the season, in some of the main ski towns in Japan, how much snow do you have piled up on the side of the roads (if any)?
Fattwins 0
depends hakuba in the town up to 2 meters. drive up to cortina 4 meters.
cal 6
2 meters is not uncommon in many places. Other places I know - Yuzawa gets to 2-3 meters, Gunma less at least at town level.
veronica 2
....and in Scotland?
happyhappy 0
I'm hoping to see 2 meters outside my house this winter. Do houses covered in tons of snow get warm in winter?
2pints-mate 0
We saw about 3 meters piled up in Hakuba a bit more in places where it had all been brought together. Impressive!

happyhappy 0
Oh well can't have everything hey? How much snow do you get up there sakebomb?
sakebomb 0
If I didn't shovel it all the time maybe 2-3 metres (?). I have a mate who lives about 20mins away in the mountains, some times he can't get home. Has to wait for the snow plough to clear the road. Nice spot though!!
BulbFish 0
Outside my house, 0cm. I have to travel. Not sure if I'd be too keen on having to shovel every morning either though
Fattwins 0
I love shoveling the snow. In the morning it wakes you right up. Used to love to get out there with the family and shovel and play.
SKI 15
Bulbfish, convinced yourself then? I'm sure you'd cope with the shovelling if you had ski runs 5 mins from your place. I know I sure would!
Norfolk in Chance 0
We hardly ever get snow here. And if we do, the world stops officially after being put into a state of chaos for a day.
giggsy 0
Do you get much snow in Kyoto?

big-will 7
Round route 17, I've seen about 6m piled up, I kid you not. Great big dirty pile it was too.
sakebomb 0
I've seen it up around 4-5 metres driving a back road between Oshamambe & Niseko. Beautiful scenery! Some scenery to look at.
