Kumapix 0
to let you know, it is possible for me to get it and they ship it to your store for free. me & AK did that once.
bushpig 0
Cheers mate I'll see how we go. So you could get the two for 20 then?
Kumapix 0
no, they don't have any d200's left but there are 2 or 3 other kitamura's in toyama city. let me have a look at what the auctions are doing
bushpig 0
No worries anyway mate, I'll see what happens at our place.
bushpig 0
I think the body is pretty cheap anyway. How much could you get the lens for?
Crudzilla 0
I have a DSLR that I bought a few years ago, Cannon EOS 350 or something (kiss in japan?). Wasn't so expensive at the time and the lens I use the most is a cheap do it all sigma (wideish - 300). Even with this budget set up I wouldn't dream of taking up the mountain. What do you guys pack your gear in? Is there a special line of snowboard camera packs out there somewhere. Or are you just gods that never stack it? edit - oh and a newbie question but do you need any special filters/polarisers for decent snow pics?
Kumapix 0
300 posts back crudzilla. basically it's either the dakine sequence or burton zoom I personally am a god that stacks it occasionally. I have landed flat on my backpack at least 3 times
Kumapix 0
just a protective filter. a uv filter can double up as a protective filter
thursday 1
I am a god at stacking and my Nikon will travel in the Dakine.
Crudzilla 0
cheers, I'll have to look into one of those too now.. more $$$ sigh
thursday 1
don't worry about that, it's time you upgraded to a Nikon.
AK 77 0
Hey, BP wanna make that d200 cost only 9 man by selling me your D70??? hmmmm?
bushpig 0
how much you offering? Actually some new info on that d200. Seems that one was a display model. Don't want that. Want new dammit! They have no more in stock but can get me one ordered in for 14 man, but won't go lower. Hmmmm
thursday 1
dude, ask Kuma to pull some strings. you can make it up to him in beers
bushpig 0
yeah, don't wanna make kuma the guy everyone leans on though. I am now considering just saying **** it! And waiting for the d300. Although if I could find a cheapish d200 new then maybe. although I haven't totally ruled out that 14 man offer...
Kumapix 0
i wouldn't get it for 14 man, man (different stresses on the 'a'). my guy is in tomorrow so let me give him a call and see what's going on. It would be funny though if they send a Toyama d200 for cheap down to where you are and you pay them a lower price than what they were quoting.
thursday 1
now you are at odds with the D200 and D300 again. oooh, which to get ... which to get
bushpig 0
cheers kuma. I think 14 is too much myself, but 21 (possibly less, but no guarantees right now) may be more than I want to pay for a d300 too. I was set on the d200, but the dwindling stock has thrown a spanner in my ill-conceived works!
Yuki's Passion 1
Ive looked at the D200 at Yodobashi, its nice, like the body on it more than the 80 as well. Once I have some cash thats what Im gonna fork out for
Kumapix 0
it will be gone by the time you find the cash
bushpig 0
hehehe, yeah cb that's my problem right now. The d300 is coming out soon so the d200 is out of production and flying off the shelves.
bushpig 0
Alright guys I have made my decision. Unless kuma, your guy manages to find some really cheap d200 that is not a display model, then I'm sayin "Stuff it!" and going for the d300 So for now I might just get that lense. And then shop around a bit for a discounted d300 once it comes out.
Fattwins 0
Anyone got a scenic shot of hakuba? I need a soft view but a nice view.
