Honshu out of the question, where would you go?

Recommended Posts

If for instance Honshu was out of the question for a ski holiday, perhaps due to radiation fears unfounded or otherwise, where would you go?

Simple question, please do not get prickly stuff up......

....and please tone down the language, Goosie, if you don't mind. There's really no need to incite a response like that.

Thank you.

Unfounded or otherwise.... why not concentrate on trying not to scare people.
Many peoples livelihoods are and will be further affected.

Mr ILoveZao,

On my recent trip to Japan, I spent alot of money ->
20,000 at Naha hotel
12,000 at Naha restaurant
120,000 at Onnah Hotel
40,000 at Onnah restaurants

80,000 for flights to Ishigaki
130,000 for hotel at Ishigaki
250,000 for black pearl necklace at Kabira Bay.

Thats a total spend of over 65man yen

That was last week. In the meantime, what did you do to safeguard the livelihoods of your people?

The last week or so I have been having a bit of a rest after a long and difficult few months.

Since March I have spent a total of about 5 weeks over in Miyagi-ken helping out with various volunteer groups.

My family in Yamagata have also been host to 4 families from Fukushima over the last 3 months. Their homes had been destroyed and over the last few weeks we have been saying some emotional goodbyes to them as they have been allocated some temporary housing.

So, perhaps nothing that compares to the 65 man yen that you spent on your restaurants, hotels and shopping in one week in western Japan. Apart from basic living and traveling costs, I have hardly spent any money in the last few months.

oh for wooloomooloo sake, let me spell this out to you.

The cash for recovery has to come from somwhere. Local spend by locals will not generate the needed funds. Gaijins taking their salaries home to US/Canada/Europe/Ozzie will only add to the fiscal crisis. Hence, lets up the tax for Japan. Great, don't you think?

Tourists spending in Japan is an inflow. You get any of that?

Toyota earnings were 99% down on last year

Honda were 95% down.

So, Japanese helping Japanese will help your country?
