nzlegend 1
LDP is getting an epic spanking! Legacy politicians who couldn't organize a pissup at a brewery and they ran this country for decades. Finally the public reached their limits and called for change. lets hope the DPJ do a better job -they cant possibly do any worse....Taro Aso don't let the door hit your ass on the way out mate....Old losers should retire and give their money to poor young men so they can get married* ;-) *reference to his stupid gaffe the other day
best skier in hakuba 5
I just don't understand why these 70+ year olds are still trying. Why don't they just retire and try to enjoy their last decade or two?
RobBright 35
becuase how can they enjoy it without the millions the pocket from the taxpayers?
best skier in hakuba 5
Perhaps with all the millions that they have already pocketed?
RobBright 35
but those millions they have already pocketed are for the their hostesses.
Go Native 70
Let's just hope this heralds some real change in this country, because at least as far as I'm concerned it really, really needs it. The fact that it's taken nearly 20 years since the economic bubble burst in this country and little in the way of any recovery since for the people to finally wake up and and try something new is something I struggle to truly understand. greymountain 0
Quote: Mr Hatoyama, who is almost certain to lead the next government, is the wealthy grandson of the founder of Bridgestone tyres. His other grandfather was a former LDP prime minister. What is it with all the inbreeding?
klingon 10
People should have given the LDP some more time to get things sorted. Such a knee-jerk reaction.
hellyer 216
Good Luck Mr Hatoyama. There can be nothing more daunting for a new government coming to power than to know that the cupboard is bare

Go Native 70
Well it's only like an extra 855 yen per day. Hardly going to make a huge difference to my lifestyle.... Guess it covers what I normally spend on breakfast and lunch each day though.

thursday 1
very unlikely. They gotta do a lot more than that to alleviate the ageing problem.
big-will 7
Very likely I say. Look at the UK as an example.
thursday 1
the UK story is driven by immigration from Eastern Europe and the dark sub-continent. Japan are not going to open their country for that kind of influx.

Tubby Beaver 209
Well I don't really know what the other lot stand for, lets hope they do a better job, but lets face it, in politics, very rarely do you see significant change when a government falls. I suggest giving 100 grand every month to every foreigner
grungy-gonads 54
That was funny. Though, of course, it was surely just jetlag.
NoFakie 45
All you need is four kids Tubby. 100,000 a month for tinnies will be yours! I'll see you down the offie. 26,000 yen a month for fifteen years is $45,000 USD per kid. I'm all for the missus popping a few more out. Let's boganing!
pie-eater 207
The excitement of this news is somewhat dulled with the fact that you will need to spend it on a sprog.
thursday 1
you don't need to spend it on a sprog, it's extra cash on top of what you spend right now.
pie-eater 207
But to get it, you need a sprog. Which are expensive. So, for that reason, I'm out.
