Lots of cover versions are totally drab, and insult to the original and just show a total lack of imagination and skill.

 

Some though are excellent.

Nice vids them. Hard to accept any version of The Final Countdown could be better than the original though wink

Oh yes a cover indeed. And the one you got above is actually a later-released remixed version of Tainted Love. The original (Soft Cell) version was better I reckon. (Although a quick look on youtube and I can't find what I thought was their original version confused )

 

They lost TONS of cash on that single purely because they put another cover version as the b-side. If they had put one of their own songs on the b-side, they would have been much much happier.

So hard to find that Soft Cell original version! But it is in this documentary (as well as the proper original) at 2:50

 

 

Actually Soft Cell story is quite interesting, above is 2nd part, this is first part
