thursday 1
I would guess, if you put the phone number in the GPS, it would show you how to get there.
Error404 0
Great report guys. How did Shizukuishi compare with Appi?
BagOfCrisps 24
They were both good for a day. I'd probably plump for Shizukuishi if I had to choose one, there was more of a challenge there and it seemed bigger.
ILoveZao 8
I like Shizukuishi, it's a good place. Also Tazawako. Great snow when I went. Good food there too.
yodel 0
Great report very interesting and a top tour you did by the sounds. Thanks
vinwee 0
Hi BagofCrips, Great report. I love Tohoku as well. Are you able to get English GPS from Narita airport? Which car rental did you opt for? I am going to Japan again, I only rented a car before in hokkaido but not from Narita airport.
2pints-mate 0
We didn't - we enjoyed the Japanese version as well as using our maps.
BagOfCrisps 24
The roads and driving was really easy I though. No real issues at all.
grungy-gonads 54
You're just really cwever.
thursday 1
the trick is finding out where the GPS screen is. On our mental Mazda it was behind the CD panel.
2pints-mate 0
We found (paper) maps to be more than sufficient. Those plus all the English on road signs made it easy.
thursday 1
did you also ask for a Model-T Ford and a crank handle?
2pints-mate 0
Yes. Alas we didn't get those. Damn.
giggsy 0
Great to read your report guys. Glad you enjoyed it. I will try harder to make it next season if you're still on.
keba 0
Great report guys, Zao is now officially on the radar.
sanjo 2
Great that more and more other places are getting some recognition. Thanks in no small part to reports like this, these forums and site in general.
BagOfCrisps 24
Yes. Well if we can do our little bit, I'm happy to do that. Japan is so much more than Niseko and Hakuba (plus a few others... and no bad feeling meant towards them)
2pints-mate 0
It certainly deserves to be.
mooncow 0
Great report and I agree with many of your points. The lift systems thing is the only real downer for me, though like you said when you know your way around the pain can be minimised! I would how they could improve it and if they have any plans in place..?
BagOfCrisps 24
Thanks mooncow. Would be good if they could sort that out, though I'm not quite sure how they would be able to do that. I would imagine CASH is an issue too!
thursday 1
I think you boys should do Niseko a favour and report your visit.
thursday 1
Actually, a tour of Hokkaido. Rusutsu, Niseko, Furano, Asahidake, Sapporo.
BagOfCrisps 24
That might be interesting. Really don't know what to do for next year, but we will be back.
