2pints-mate 0
I just thought I would start a new (light-hearted) thread to further the UK vs Austrlia pies debate ( here ) to see if there were many good pies on offer in Niseko?
mrjamie 0
delicious deserts store nearby maru, in the shizen-kan area... but maybe my image of pie is desert and not meat, 'specially since I'm a vegan
2pints-mate 0
But what about chicken balti and meat & potato?
soubriquet 0
No chance matey. I'm the closest respondant so far, and the best you'll get is an Oishida Pastie.
ausi ski bum 1
You can buy pies at the Australian owned place on the main drag, big white building, the name escapes me ATM.
thursday 1
Australian owned place? You're talking about 95% of the places then.
spook 0
is it the one called aussie house? and no, i'm not joking. i think snowave own it, or at least they used to
Go Native 70
Snowave never owned but rented space in it. Pretty sure it's owned by Scott from SAS. Wazza made some decent pies but his restaurant won't be opening again. Wazza has been hinting at opening a bakery this winter which hopefully will have pies. You can buy Villi's pies (an Aussie brand) at M-Pocket in Kutchan.
indosnm 0
Ahh Villis, from SA! Soubs, when we going to get the mail order pasties? Send the PM!
Mantas 3
It's a testament to the allure of the humble Aussie pie when it's compatriots cant even go a single week without one.

soubriquet 0
Good grief. It's more an indication of cultural impoverishment Do they have to import little squeezy packets of tomato sauce, or are they locally sourced?
Mantas 3
I was waiting for that

soubriquet 0
A brown slurry pie and can of VB is the world's most sophisticated cuisine, thursday. It's what gives Orstrayans the moral authority to criticise the world. They don't like to take it though
ausi ski bum 1
I never ate a wazza pie prefering the local food, was just answering the question.

Tubby Beaver 209
Aussies are just a later generation of "Brits Abroad". If you have ever had the (mis)fortune of going to some popuar Spanish Costa in the height of Summer, you still get to see what the original, coarser Brit Abroad looks like. Look out for ppl who are a pinky-red hue, wearing Union Jack shorts, pint of lager in hand, eating sausage egg and beans and reading the Daily Star. Sometimes the call of these interesting animals can be heard late into the night...."Ingurland, Ingurland, Inguuuuurlaaaaaand!!!"
