soubriquet 0
Sunny and clear, another beautiful morning.
Go Native 70
Down to near -15 overnight and currently about -10 and cloudy with some very light snow falling.
soubriquet 0
FWIW, here are a couple of photos taken last December. 27th December 2006. Mogami River in spate and at bankfull, following torrential rain. Base has all melted. 31st December 2006. Four days later, good skiing at Jangle Jungle.
muikabochi 208
How is it over there soubs? Really mild today here and not a cloud in the sky. Like spring almost. Today about 2km from my house: Forecast is for snow from Sunday so hoping that will be a honkaku-teki dump.
soubriquet 0
Mild frost and high cloud. Rain forecast. Two days of mild weather means our builder can finally cast the slab for our garage and parking area without fear of it freezing. That means I can finally set up the sprinkler system. Woohoo. muikabochi 208
It's heavy rain here tonight. You doing the sprinkler system then soubs? You seem to like that kind of thing. Sounds like a mare to me!
soubriquet 0
We've just split the cost of a bore with our next-door neighbours. The sprinklers will clear the snow from our shopfront; parking and garage space. That means that on an epic morning I'm going to be off early for first tracks rather than shovelling a tonne of snow. Seems good to me
stemik 14
morning everyone...heavy rain this morning...not looking too good for today. sorry Soubs might sound like a basic question .....why doesn't the water from the sprinkler system freeze?
soubriquet 0
Morning. Mild and very wet, wind from the south. My concrete is very happy, after no frost last night. The sprinkler water doesn't freeze because it has drained before it gets cold enough. It can freeze if you turn it on on a clear night, but not if its snowing. Once the meltwater is in the canal, then not my problem sunshine
big-will 7
Looks like it is raining everywhere...
soubriquet 0
Still light rain here. Up to 10 cm of snow forecast for the day, and lots more to come. Today's task is setting up the sprinklers.
muikabochi 208
It is still raining in Muikamachi, but it looks like it is snowing in Yuzawa up the road so hopefully here too.

soubriquet 0
Can someone explain female logic? Yesterday was Day 1 and we now have access to a bore for a snow-melting sprinkler system. This morning, all the taps were turned off, and we are buried in snow.
Thunderpants 0
Hey Soub. On female logic... Nothing to add really By the way, i have been thinking of you a few times up in the mountains, i did have "one for you" quite a lot of times

soubriquet 0
Happy New Year Thunderpants. Nice photo, nice mountain. Back in Japan yet? Haven't been to Nepal since 1980, when I was an irresponsible young man. Now I'm an irresponsible old man
Thunderpants 0
Good morning Soub, Came back to jp 3 weeks ago. We're in Tanegashima now. so far away from the snow. It actually makes me mildly depressed. Regarding Nepal, I realized that you really need to be young AND irresponsible to enjoy the whole package over there. Mountains are still very nice, but Kathmandu and the bus rides is too tough for me now. i don't think i will return.
soubriquet 0
Morning. I found the trip from Kathamandu to to Pokhara more comfortable on the roof rack than in in the bus. Snowing heavily this morning.
