giggsy 0
I see Rooney got sent off last night. It sounds like you guys get a better footie deal on the tv than even we do here.

big-will 7
They're all pretty much playing 2nd teams at the moment aren't they in these friendlies?
scouser 4
Pretty much. Having said that Bellamy and the likes played. Perhaps they're just warming up and being cunning in their plan.
BagOfCrisps 24
They will be hoping that it is more cunning than Svens England World Cup cunning plan. That turned out to be not very cunning at all.
soubriquet 0
Ah yes. Sven's cunning stunt. He muffed it.
giggsy 0
And what a big surprise that was. Ronaldo made his first appearance for United since the World Cup last night playing Oxford. Lots of booing. And 2 goals. I actually think he enjoys that kind of attention and feeds off it. Let's hope so.
2pints-mate 0
He seems to. So away fans should learn something from that. I wonder if they will. Next weekend, first game. Oh joy.
rach 1
he was looking on good form. I want to know how much of the want away stories were made to be more than they actually were.
scouser 4
So Terry is the new England captain. I was hoping that Stevie G might get the nod but Terry should be decent. Good to see the last (hopefully) of Becks as well.
scouser 4
Well beating Chelsea as a start to the season can't be bad.

pie-eater 207
Liverpool looked quite sharp yesterday and very happily Chelsea did not. In the paper yesterday, an article on the "Best Premiership Pies". Here's the pick of the bunch Aston Villa - chicken balti - 6/10 and 4/10 Bolton Wanderers - cheese and onion - 0/10 and 1/10 Blackburn Rovers - Steak and Thwaites - 5/10 and 2/10 Liverpool - Meat and potato - 8/10 and 8/10 Newcastle United - Mince and onion - 5/10 and 4/10 Wigan Athletic - Chunky steak - 9/10 and 9/10 As should be expected, Wigan have won the Pie League. BagOfCrisps 24
We don't do pies in the south. Anyway a really good team-by-team preview of the Premiership on the always good Guardian http://football.guardian.co.uk/season200607/0,,1840692,00.html
scouser 4
Pies are actually good in Wigan. I know a number of really good pie shops in Liverpool as well. Back to the footie. Great way to start the season, beating Chelsea.
bobby12 0
Yep good one, shame I couldnt catch it. Just heard my apartment is getting renovated on the outside, so we cant put anything on the verandar until the new year - so no sky for me it seems unless I get it thru hikari, which I know nothing about. soubriquet 0
It's tough luck on Dean Ashton breaking an ankle in training like that. I'll be interested to see how Aston Vanilla go. The last time I saw them was in 1967, in a 2nd Division game at Coventry. There were about 45,000 in the crowd (the Highfield Road record). We beat them 2-0. They were rubbish then, and I'll be surprised to see much change.
bobby12 0
Is the england friendly on TV tonight in Japan?
BagOfCrisps 24
4-0. At half time I was looking forward to a final 8-0 but it wasn't to be. Can't look into it too much but encouraging though.
2pints-mate 0
First half pretty decent. Can you believe the goals Crouch is getting. I honestly dont know if I think that is a good or bad thing
BagOfCrisps 24
What happened to the big furry spider on top of Rios head thats what I want to know. Must have been a relief to see the end of that
