And what a big surprise that was.

Ronaldo made his first appearance for United since the World Cup last night playing Oxford. Lots of booing. And 2 goals. I actually think he enjoys that kind of attention and feeds off it. Let's hope so.

he was looking on good form. I want to know how much of the want away stories were made to be more than they actually were.

So Terry is the new England captain. I was hoping that Stevie G might get the nod but Terry should be decent.

Good to see the last (hopefully) of Becks as well.

Liverpool looked quite sharp yesterday and very happily Chelsea did not. \:\)

In the paper yesterday, an article on the "Best Premiership Pies". Here's the pick of the bunch

Aston Villa - chicken balti - 6/10 and 4/10

Bolton Wanderers - cheese and onion - 0/10 and 1/10

Blackburn Rovers - Steak and Thwaites - 5/10 and 2/10

Liverpool - Meat and potato - 8/10 and 8/10

Newcastle United - Mince and onion - 5/10 and 4/10

Wigan Athletic - Chunky steak - 9/10 and 9/10

As should be expected, Wigan have won the Pie League.

Pies are actually good in Wigan.

I know a number of really good pie shops in Liverpool as well.

Back to the footie. Great way to start the season, beating Chelsea. clap.gif

It's tough luck on Dean Ashton breaking an ankle in training like that.

I'll be interested to see how Aston Vanilla go. The last time I saw them was in 1967, in a 2nd Division game at Coventry. There were about 45,000 in the crowd (the Highfield Road record). We beat them 2-0. They were rubbish then, and I'll be surprised to see much change.
