Regrets of the dying
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to brit-gob's topic in General off-topic discussions
But you do regret having to have worked hey, I remember you saying how much you dislike work on there. That counts surely. "Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others" Not a problem for most Japanese that one, I reckon. -
Good movies you've seen recently

"post-apocalyptic authoritarian future movie" did this bit not flag it as such before you went in there -
Wii vs PS3 vs Xbox360
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to klingon's topic in General off-topic discussions
Hey I don't know. All I'm saying is that in days gone by if you wanted to play video games on handhelds you had to pay that price. That was the price. Now there are lots of much much cheaper alternatives. They may be simpler, but for lots of people I would imagine that works just fine. Asking 4000+ yen for a handheld game is going to surely become more and more difficult. -

Mass market does not care about that. The cheaper alternative was not there before. Most people use a handheld for quick blasts etc. -

4000-4500 yen is expensive compared to 180-630 yen, yes. I agree they are going to find it more and more difficult to sell the games at that price with the alternatives out there. -

Thinking of getting a Vita. I like the idea of downloading and having them all there without messing around with cards. I suppose the 32GB would hold quite a lot of games, right? -

What's going on? A challenge.
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to panhead_pete's topic in General off-topic discussions
Pete, may I suggest that your comments and this topic in itself are more likely to 'inhibit people' from posting friendly banter and joshing jokes than anything else I have noticed. Having said that, I'm sure that grown up, mature adults would hardly be affected really. I'm not really a 'Forums' type person, but this one is probably the most friendly, useful and fun one I know. -

Wowow or Star Channel
HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher replied to @tokyo's topic in General off-topic discussions
What are those embarrassingly bad channels that are in the pack? Universal and Fox Movies? They really are poooooor. Every now and again they have a decent movie to show and then show it about twice a day for 3 months! The rest of it is crappy "Spider Eating Man" type movies that absolutely no one has ever heard of. -

What a racket. I think I prefer j-pop more than that, at least it's not a drag on the ears like that. -
Definitely one of the better places for that kind of thing. I heard that Zao is similar. ?
