I can't wait for the final Star Wars to be over. Then we can hear the last of the big steaming pile of poo that it is. (Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic there, but it's a hope) -

Slightly different of course but I was watching something here in Japan the other day and they were talking about a tsunami warning that had been issued sometime last year (?) somewhere in Japan. It said something like only 6% actually did anything, the rest (of the people who even knew about it) ignored it. Of course if it was a major thing it might be different, and saving just a few lives is good, but it made for an interesting watch all the same. -
Sounds like fun. I think its part of a "disasters to come" tv series read about it somewhere

Young table tennis player called Ai (hence Ai-chan). She makes a high-pitched squeaking noise when she wins a point, accompanied with a clenched fist and a scowling 'look'.

My current read is this one, highly recommended: Global Warming: the Complete Briefing by John Houghton http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/det...=glance&s=books "This book is for you and me and the millions of people who think that they ought to know a little about the biggest of the big issues. And for those people who want a clear and calm exposition of what global warming is, why it really matters and what we can do about it" -
