My friend has been and liked it. More than that right now I'm not sure I will ask him when we meet at the weekend to plot a cunning plan to hit Hokkaido this winter.

I don't think many people find California to be boring, sure that won't be a problem. This thread seems to be slowing down. Perhaps a conclusion has been made on the subject.

Hi there My friends and I are thinking of going up to Furano this winter and even though I am not fussed myself on the subject of backcountry one of my friends is stalling as he has heard they are very strict and he is fearing he will be left to sulk on the official courses of the resort. I was wondering is this apparent reputation deserved or not?

I would love to have a go at that. I suppose the % of people getting in front of the 3 "judges" is tiny. Perhaps a bit of Morris Dancing would bring attention to my singing skills.

It's on the main Japanese news right now... Seems guests can "buy" the food (ie. live animal) to give to the tigers. There was a price list. Live chickens are 640 yen, live cows are over 20,000 yen. Showed a group of people with kids buying a sheep. When the sheep was being eaten the kid said "It looks like it hurt". Then another guy said that the animals are just food so it' ok.

I like that long course when there's hardly anyone else there in a morning. Nice.

Here's my plan. 9th - Madarao 10th - Myoko 11th - Myoko Not sure where abouts in Myoko yet, but thats the plan.

I don't really like goggles but of course when the weather is bad no choice. When it's good I have some dark and fairly large sunglasses.

I think they look like nice girls. I wouldn't mind meeting them. As for McDs, I know someone who loves eating them the next day. In the fridge overnight, then cold big mac for breakfast the next day.
