  1. Very sad to hear but I am glad my countryman are not getting a bashing on the forum again. There are bell ends from every country. When I am traveling I like I expect most people on this forum consider myself to be an ambassador for my homeland and do everything I can to make my stay inconspicuous.
  2. Just read on this sites avy reports that they are conducting "Experimental avalanche control operation with dynamites is being carried out in Mizuno no Sawa, Higashiyama." Preyyy cool....hopefully they are able to open it some day and we can stop drooling from the gondola and just ride it. I think it would give Higashiyama a big boost.
  3. Nah keep the weather analysis coming Ger! Care to take a stab at when this crazy wind will abate in Hokkaido and we can get out and enjoy the snow?
  4. I was at Sapporo Kokusai the other week on a busy day and they never let the gondola go up with a spare seat, the single line was sooo fast also they would jam around 3-4 people on from it into every gondola.

  6. For sure, It used to be called La ponte then it was sold and the new owner changed the name to Moiwa now I hear its been sold again but fortunately the name is staying the same this time!

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with hiphop in snowboarding. There's just as much rock, punk & indie in the scene. The first post of this thread refers to More and the Salt Lake City rails segment. If you've ever watched a Finger on da trigger video (Tech nine) which is put out by the SLC crew, it's all bandannas and hiphop (pretty good stuff mixed by MFM). While I personally hate the bankrobber bandana look don

(quite possibly more than many snowboards--- but that's all relative and hardly able to be argued effectively, you'd have to compare length/weight-to-length/weight. I doubt teh biggest board has more surface area than the biggest pair of skis.) Do you really avoid face-shots due to snow in your goggle vents, or 'a col
  10. Man there is SFA in Niseko. In Kutchan there is a shop called Boom,it has some decent stuff but they are only small so may not have the model/size combo you are after. Sapporo is a bit of a trek at 2.5 hours away but its another possibility.

  13. There are many different grades of loctite. If you get the low end stuff ... think its called screw lock or something, you will not have any dramas getting them apart again. Something else you may want to try is getting a new set of binding screws, new screws have a strip of thread lock on them that is really only good for one application, ie if you remove the screws it becomes alot less effective. Just curious.......are the link bindings an aluminum baseplate??

I have a Garmin Etrex Vista C GPS unit, plugged into Sony Vaio with detailed maps of Japan, so navigation isn't really the problem. I was more concerned about causing an accident by not being able to recognise a "Give Way" sign Make sure you dont give them a lift when you get there.
  15. I believe incar satnav is an option on rental cars also. If you are keen to hire I would push the issue with your group as getting around Hakuba can be a pain...a car would be a godsend!
  16. Thats odd, I thought all their top end boards were made in NA. I know the facilty in Austria the pumps out boards for many manufacturers pumps out quality decks but are you implying NA made boards are crap?
  17. I have 2 different burton decks. One has the serial number on the right and the other board has it on the left.
  18. Just getting back on topic a bit. I heard on the radio yesterday that the vegemite ban has been rescinded. Just did a bit of research to see what the story was and it appears after reading this article that it may never have been banned in the first place....talk about storm in a tea cup. Must have been a slow news day when the story broke. As a side note found this title of another story- "US Bans Vegemite, Tasebuds Rejoice, Shit Eating Kids Sad."
  19. No contest.....furano is not in the same weight class. I would however prefer you went to Furano to keep the numbers down.

Perhaps things have changed but I remember a couple of years ago that there's a regular bus service running between the 3 main resorts throughout the day (free as I recall, at least to pass holders). Otherwise you'd be holding an all-mountain pass and stuck on one resort because of the weather... From memory no busses betwween 11:30 and 14:30. They are only free for all mountain pass holders.
