  1. Hey, how many of you ski with tethers? I've never done it before but I have some new skis on the way and I really don't want to lose one.. I can see it being dangerous sometimes. If a ski snapped back and cut my face it might jeapordize my modeling career! Do I have to worry?
  2. I tried a few different searches for this topic but couldn't find anything. So, does anyone know anything about cost or companies that can send my powder skis from Minneapolis to Asahikawa? I was back home last week for a wedding and was going to bring them out but long story short, some a$$hole at my storage garage thought I hadnt paid my dues and put a big lock on the door....
  3. 1. Big Sky 2. Aspen Highlands 3. Arapahoe Basin got my first J-day tomorrow at Kamui!!
  4. Currently have a old beat up pair of Salomon 1080's here in Japan, going home to get my Volant Chubb pow skis in december.. a set of 205 cm dynastars (cant remember the name)I used to race with. and 1.5 sets of Volant Machetes, I buried a ski at winter park, CO, and never found it, even with a hardcore metal detector
  5. For me, anywhere in Japan because I haven't skiied here yet (wont be waiting too long though). and then the typical ones in SA and Europe. Also some of the smaller club fields in NZ on a powder day. I'm curious why noone is saying Colorado?? Cmon people, Aspen Highlands has some of the steepest inbounds terrain in the world and Steamboat and Telluride are gnarly as well. Not to mention all the summit county places
  6. yea, seemed like the vert wasn't too bad though? I thought I read 600 m or so? I don't need too much, 10 fresh turns on a steep face and I'll be happy.
  7. Being a severe porn addict (usually ski porn...) I'd have to say that TGR is the best I've seen. But for a child of the 80's its hard to beat Glen Plake bombing moguls on those 215's. And please lets hear about the snow in the atlas mts, ive always wanted to go there
  8. Well, I've been told by many people (but mostly Aussies) that Japan has the best pow in the world. I do find it hard to believe that it's better than the San Juans but it's one of those things that you just have to find out for yourself. I'll definitely update on which I like the most but it might have a lot to do with what kind of season we have... And r45, I've got about 40% of my gear here now, and I'm going home real quick for a friend's wedding on Dec. 9 when I'll get the rest. Thanks for the replies and for now we'll just have to watch videos and dream of those sweet, sweet snow flak
  9. hey everyone, I just moved to asahikawa for the year and can't wait to see if this j-pow is as good as I've heard. people tell me that Kamui is the best place nearby. should I go for a season pass or just single tix? I also want to check out furano and any place where its steep and deep. I'm not much of a park rat... any asahikawans out there that want to meet up for a few send me a message! I'm Brian, grew up in Minnesota then lived in Boulder, CO for 6 years and have skiied all over the rockies but mostly stuck around the front range. Two southen hemisphere winters ago I was in Qu
