Isn't it because of the backlight shining in from the sides? In normal viewing you probably won't be able to tell at all, but to a great or lesser degree it is there. They test them with a grey screen or you can see better if you have no input. Here's a very bad example of clouding Try to find a 100% perfect ipad or large tv screen, and you'll get a prize!

It may be the case for your place, but I know 2 people who have season passes - one for Maiko Snow Resort - and they need to go and pick up a ticket every time they go. They cannot just put the season pass in their ticket holder.

Not that I have heard anything either way. But if you mean fully open wih all the lifts and runs of the whole of the Kagura area open..... then would guess chances are close to zero.
