  1. fattwins, replied on other thread too... no go this week, but probably for the best, ive been fighting tendonitis in my left (back) knee for a month or so now - never bad enough to rest but not going away, so its probably good to be able to give it the rest it needs. i changed out of a duck stance cos i thought this may be aggravating it. i rode 0 on my back foot last trip and quite liked it.
  2. takasu snow park (u gotta book down himaraya and show some id). this weekend was called null and void due to forecast rain tomorrow in ontake region tomorrow...its my longest break this season... i pulled up sick last thurs and lost half my cashola on my bus trip, so i hope things improve next week.
  3. himaraya is pushing a demo of 2003/2004 board/skis at takasu on march 8/9 for anyone who gives a damn.
  4. ill do some research then put it to the commitee, thanks for the input.
  5. my driver is fearful of gifu crowds (it jams coming into nags on a week day) so its one of the ontakes or shinwa park (which i predict to be full of icy pain). ontake (not ropeway) has a pipe which has also been voted as desirable. any other route 19 suggestions will be considered. im hittin takasu next thurs.

  7. its been kinda hot out west o' late so im headin for the high ground at ontake. doesnt look like theres any joy on the horizon either. good luck to those who can goes to the spots where it snows.
  8. i give her points for innovation. but its not just the looks, surely its the feel too. anyone felt enhanced breasts? she really should be offering a before and after grope.
  9. sure the home ground advantage will play big, but lets also consider the rules. if the ref sets out "no biting" that sharks gonna have to get some fancy fin work in action to overcome the hairy one's limb advantage. i vote for the mammal.
  10. well all this hypothesising is one thing... but i wanna see the real deal. O11, can we set something up? i'm up for a trip to the detached cheese universe.
  11. for a fun bit of hypocrisy from an english point of view try http://www.channel4.com/news/2003/special_reports/iraq_hard_place.html some of the skits r pretty crap but the content is of some interest.
  12. c'mon guys dont rub it in, i mean england lose at everything. it must be tough losing all the time. so be kind and dont mention them losing anymore. ok? no more loser talk.
  13. well those that actually know may want to correct me, but -chan is a diminutive... attached to a word to express the niceness or your fondness of/for it. -kun is a boy version. -sama is a makeemsoundbetterative.
  14. y' guys oughta know, there r a lotta different cultures livin japan (albeit in small numbers), but any given culture may have its traditional choice in the tape it uses for securing ducks (to stop them getting under ropes for example). some may use sticky tape, others masking tape, and all could argue for the superiority of their duck tape. however if u choose also to use your duck tape in some form of weather proofing exercise i suggest we reduce the cultural ambiguity and refer to duct tape. its strong, sticky and dont take no sh*t from rain or snow. funnily enough it is also pronounc
  15. whachuutalkinbout db-chan? u can -chan up anything. he could be a -kun too. an' if your dog was going on a tour he'd be dog-sama. my cactus's nickname is sabo-chan.
  16. since everyone isnt as considerate as db to keep us up to date, please tell how the season counter is clicking over... im at 13 days, aiming for anything over 20 (aint got no hols to take so thats nearly all one day at a time on the bus), wondering if it will ever be possible to live in the hills and do it all the time... and to the sydney-siders how many days do u try and get in in an aussie season?
  17. well there isnt much ive spent on that could be done any cheaper so i guess..ummm...a lot! i recently did a rough estimate of daily costing over all days riding (since birth)including gear but not airfares (never been on a "ski trip"), and decided, as i guess most others have, that doing the estimate was a pretty silly idea.
  18. some old dude was eaten - while the cafe breakfasters looked on - at a a city beach back home 2 years ago. i think im more freaked by land based humanivores though... a tiger had a go at me from the other side of a wire fence (with good reason though, i add - i wanted a photo without the wire fence in ) and i felt kinda little and food-like. in honour of the thread... a bear would be mighty scary too. some can be pretty big and hairy with untrimmed nails. but i would have to say i like bears.
  19. i noticed a lot when i was fresh, but not so much now. i reckon most freshies put out a vibe which is of some interest to the locals. but this dies with age... combined with the fact some attention kinda becomes normal. i say hello to the younguns, and their mums always encourage them to say herro back
  20. Quote: Originally posted by Ocean11: What's the spyware you get with Kazaa? I've used spyware checkers and found nothing but a couple of gifs for some dopey casino ads. Is there really anything to this common assertion? supposedly theres a lot of stuff that comes down with Cydoor.i used ad aware to go thru my comp after i unistalled kazaa and found a heap of shit. theres also some good info on stopping popups at the kazaa lite website.
  21. first i got kazaa, then i had to rid myself of the spyware, then i found kazaa lite, then it all seemed to be taking too much time so i started listening to internet radio, and there r some wicked stations that keep me entertained in a variety of moods. dont feel the need to use P2P. copying from friends though is still worth the effort. only 2 years ago i was stunned to find not everyone owned boxes of cd's (but how do they live? i pondered), but now i havent bought one for nearly 8months.
  22. fruit is a bit spensive here, but it can be good...ive enjoyed mandarin season a lot cant make my way thru a whole apple though... i miss a good spot to scope the stars and go satellite hunting. checked the leonids shower in november, but couldnt get a spot with a nice panoramic sky view... just lay in a car park
  23. alright - i bin dissed, spat on, kicked and generally unloved... so being sarcarstic (young ones allusion) dunt work when texting, but what if u cant help it? if your self control is weak? what then? anyone know of an emoticon that says "i got something to say but please dont listen" id like to use it here. one at the start of this post, one in the middle and one at the end (because i would enjoy using such an icon not because i am being sarcarstic at the end). id like to use it a lot. any other suggestions of how to convey e-feelings?
  24. just yokin' (thats scandanavian for jokin') i thought the backwards bit would give it away. y'know like the water skier that spent all his time lookin for a lake on a slope!?! im sorry ill tell the truth from now on. what about switch and fakie.... same meaning? one better than the other in some instances? any preferences? i usually say switch.
