  1. Ahhh not very My post was meant to be toungue in cheek. Yeah I heard that they cleared a lot of land and destroyed one of the remaining habitats of a threated bird species in order to build the expo site. Surely the irony of that is not lost on all Japanese. Pathetic!
  2. Don't forget the Big Wheels. It was made by the same company (I think?) except it had yellow handlebars instead of the levers. The plastic wheels used to wear out for sure, but were the secret to the awesome sliding potential. I had a few huge stacks riding those from the top of our hill, yank the levers, fully sideways into the driveway, over a jump and into the back yard. When I have a kid they are getting one of those. Simply wicked
  3. That was a big platypus! One of the world's coolest creatures, so I'm glad it is living large at Expo 05
  4. I was really impressed with Vienna. Some truly beautiful buildings, nice people and easy to get around. Highly recommended
  5. He'll tell you, but then he'll have to eat you with that big red mouth of his.
  6. With all this rampant no-nooky marriage nonsense happening in Japan it's no wonder divorce is on the rise.
  7. Which famous club would this be Klubhead?
  8. Just a long series of "so desu ne!" and "oiishi" was how I found Nihon T.V
  9. One a year is good, more than once is better. Other than that I always managed to let off a lot of steam by hitting the slopes, Izu, and the pubs and clubs of Tokyo on the weekend. And my weekends were sacred. You wouldn't believe the looks of disbelief I got when I said that I was having a two week holiday to Thailand at the end of year break last year. I was thinking why would anybody want to go somewhere for less than that?
  10. "Is it a bird?....is it a plane?.....NO! It's a ****ing idiot!"
  11. I can't wait for echineko's reply to this one!
  12. Peace Train by Cat Stephens Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar Cocaine - the JJ Cale version
  13. Hmmm....drawing a long bow there Furm. Have you worked for a Japanese company? More like with Japan's gender roles stuck in the 60's and a majority of mums not working, they have more time to watch TV drama than everybody else. Who knows? My experience was that the average japanese workday is still criminally long and fairly inefficient.
  14. I'll just stick that humble pie in the oven for you Kintaro, should be ready to eat in a little while (just kidding) I have to say I visited the North Shore in late summer and had a great time. Nice people, good smoke and great sea turtles. Had fun doing backflips off the rock at waimea. There was this old dude who was the rock-jumping master, his car was all decked out with stickers and signs to that effect. A real character
  15. I'd feel like Davros wheeling in the C5. Especially with that funky rainwear. Even the model looks pissed off to be in it.
  16. Yep I'm totally wrong. My katakana has gone to poo already, and it was never that good in the first place. My apologies sakebomb. I was really asking rather than telling, Mr Japan (aka Markie)
  17. Axion you and s87 are going to have a ball! More hip hop than you can poke a stick at, pretty easy to meet good people for a big city, great clubs, great restaurants.....the list goes on. Getting set up is a bit of a pain but if you have a fairly well paying job, a good attitude and impressive late night stamina you will have a great time, especially on the weekend. Not sure about living in the 'pong or shi-boo-yah tho'. There is such a thing as too much action right on your doorstep.
  18. John Butler Trio playing at glastonbury, wow He really is getting a name for himself outside Oz. Slightly off topic, but I saw Soulwax on the lineup too. Has anyone seen their video for the song E talkin'Absolute classic! Good lineup there giggsy, enjoy it if you are going.
  19. I wish I brought a Rio karma now Danz. Keep well brother!
  20. My battery went down to around two hours after about 6-7 months of heavy use. I did all the things recommended to maintain bettery life, like frequent top up charging etc, etc. It then stayed like that for about another 6 months, then down to 1 hour max for a couple more months. After that it would not even play anything unless I had it plugged into power. I got about 8 months off good use out of it which is not up to scratch. But with cheap battery replacement it lives, breathes and jives again, no thanks to apple. Well it will do when my battery arrives on Wednesday. I'll drop a post to
  21. Just about everything Peter Jackson is involved with turns out good so I am looking forward to King Kong as well. (There you go, not everything I write about movies is negative or requires ""'s)
  22. No you are totally wrong. I am a big fan of people borrowing from the past, improving on things and adding to the legacy. That's fantastic. What I don't like is people using a classic name simply to make a generic hollywood blockbuster and get some more arses on seats. Surely you can understand what I am getting at? Like it or not, this is a forum where people share there thoughts and feelings, which is what I'm doing. So nitpick away you puncuation nazi, I can't be ****ed explaining myself to you.
  23. No matey, if you read my post correctly you will see I said the original storyline. By this I mean the book by H.G wells and the sounds, art and atmosphere of the "musical" soundtrack done in the seventies, as I have mentioned several times in earlier post. If you haven't read the book or listened to the album then you don't know what I am talking about. Yes the orignal movie looks dated, but I'm guessing that is because it was made frigging ages ago, sherlock
