  1. (HAG-ihs) - Haggis is a Scottish dish made from sheep's offal (windpipe, lungs, heart and liver) of the sheep, which is first boiled and then minced. It is then mixed with beef suet and lightly toasted oatmeal. This mixture is placed inside the sheep's stomach, which is sewn closed. The resulting haggis is traditionally cooked by further boiling (for up to three hours). ENJOY!
  2. How popular are those anyway? By snow scooters you mean the things with handlebars right? Anyone tried one of those yet? Ive been very tempted but not sure if its worth the money to rent...
  3. Ya, I was expecting rain/snow mix for the most part but geesh. Its okay though, snow is our friend.
  4. Yes, usually the tight pressure gradient only lasts about a day as the low moves out, but if the low bombs (becomes incredibly strong) then it will slow down and it could last a couple of days, so dont expect nearly as much warmth today
  5. I can only wish to look like that when Im older, think of all the kids I'll be able to scare! fun fun fun! (talking about ngarutoa's avatar)

  7. Why cant they just play for love of the game? However they work much harder than MLB players and only get paid a fraction of their salaries, so I guess slight raises are applicable for comparisons sake.
  8. When a low pressure system passes with strong gradient level winds that are perpendicular to the mountain range, the winds on the leeward side of the range are forced downward and air particles are heated (adiabatic heating), this heating also dries the atmosphere which gives us a nice sunny day, the entire Kanto plain area feels the effect of warmer temperatures solely because of the forced heated air particles, and i guess slightly because of the sun although in winter the angle isnt enough to boost temps up as high as they were today. If you are wondering why it can be so calm in the m
  9. Oh wait, you were probably asleep... time 445am Feb 16 magnitude 5.4, not bad
  10. yet another one, I know you felt that one
  11. Ya, how do WE know you're sexy? or a girl? We need evidence now. BTW, I was not one of the other 13 either. I think you work for snowjapan, maybe a moderator or something, where is your member rating? just curious. Is that it then? Make an appearance every so often with that sexy avatar to keep things churning>
  12. Dont feel bad, truly rural gets me all the time, i have to say it real slow.
  13. tricky situation, it could backfire approaching your friend or the girl about it. I think it would not be wise to approach the girl, she could quickly turn it around and tell your friend that you were hitting on her or something, plus he might wonder why you were having private conversations with her in the first place. Personally, I would subtly tell my friend that ive noticed his girl flirting a great deal with other guys, I wouldnt say anything about her flirting with me... might turn sour. SUBTLY is the key, give him a heads up that he might want to keep an eye out. Friends don
  14. sweets87, learn the language and you'll be much better off than I
  15. I love the language barrier I love the highway system I love the outrageous tolls I have to pay to use their highway system that I love I love the fresh Tokyo air I love how the buildings and houses are crammed together but seriously, it has more mountains and snow than Texas, and thats all that matters for my last winter here.
  16. say "Truly rural" repeatedly, out loud Lily ladles little Letty's lentil soup. She sells sea shells by the sea shore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells. but wait, theres more... http://www.geocities.com/Athens/8136/tonguetwisters.html
  17. Interesting point you bring up there maoriboy, my cousin came here to visit last august, we went to shibuya? and got completely trashed, somehow I got home after a long series of train switches and didnt realize he wasnt with me, then an hour later he was back with me, about 8am I guess, it was all very strange, i mean how the hell did we get home? it was my first time there but especially him...

  19. I like to relax, dont really plan anything until I get there. I mean its always good to have a skeleton agenda but if you have plenty of time for everything, just take it day by day. A lot better than those trips where you have to see and do everything within a few days, doesnt even feel like a vacation then, everything is so rushed. gamera - you're Japanese correct? How much could you possibly weigh? Im 210 lbs and supported by hammocks almost 70% of the time that im in one
  20. WOW thats terrible if its true, sad and terrible... still better than I could do though
  21. Man now you got me stoked to teach my daughter! She's only 3 months so I guess I have to wait... but evidently not too long!
  22. Alright then I dont feel so bad, what a guy huh? Im sure he's busy with the new addition.
  23. It's nice to be a part of a forum that doesn't have a bunch of kids on it that would take this question and run. Banff in Alberta Canada has the best resorts Ive ever been to* (Lake Louise, Sunshine Village, and Norquay), peak heights Im not sure of but they're on up there. *Comparing only Colorado, Alberta, and Japan
