  1. Here are some cheap and interesting things to do in Tokyo .
  2. I'm picturing some kind of skiing, shouting robot.
  3. Longest in US is "only" 45 meters (at Keystone): Seems that they had a "King of the Rails" competition last September at Perisher Blue (in Australia) on an 80 meter rail(!). Whistler has a King of the Rail comp of it's own going on right now:
  4. _spud: fyi, we're going to see some sumo on Sunday to enjoy that great seating again...
  5. I've never been to that particular sale, but my experience with those kinds of sales is pretty hit-or-miss. You definately are better off going as early as possible and be prepared for the mad rush. I've managed to find good deals on accessories (goggles, gloves, etc).
  6. It might be this one at Tokyo Big Site in Odaiba this weekend.
  7. NPM: I've been only once (with some other forum members). We called directly for the tickets and did not have the best box seats, but had a good time. I'm going again Jan 21st or 22nd with supposedly better seats. I'll try to post some pics later this month.
  8. There are trains that go to Narita Town (just type in "Narita" in the search engine). I'm not sure how easy/cheap it is to get a taxi from Narita Town to Narita Airport though. Sorry, never done that before.
  9. Actually, my times above are a bit outdated. Here's an updated search engine in English for you: JR Timetables
  10. When's your flight the next morning? It's possible from Shinjuku with a couple of options. You can take one of two trains departing Shinjuku from around 11:13pm or 12:40am and arriving at Narita at 6:21am but that involves alot of messy transfers. Or you can hang out in Shinjuku and catch a 4:36 train that arrives at Narita at 6:30am (with only one transfer). If you can get an earlier bus, the last NaritaExpress from Shinjuku is 7:41pm (8:03pm from Tokyo Station).
  11. I believe it is possible to order online in English (but you will pay more than the usual ticket price): Sunrise Tours It is also possible to get tickets the day of the tournament, but you will likely be sitting very far away from the action. If you do that option, bring binoculars/telephoto lens. You can check the wrestlers up close once and awhile by standing near the entrance way, but you can't stand there forever.
  12. Some people like to use glow-in-the-dark wax for a really fun ナイター. We call these people "freaks".
  13. Make sure you teach them to apply lots of wax for a smoother ride.
  14. Cheers for the pic! Nose deep powder! Have a great time exploring.
  15. I would like to see some photos of joint custody dog romping down the slopes. (btw, you said, "teh"; hee hee!)
  16. spud and Ocean: You both would like the Bonobo mix for the Solid Steel series . Been listening to it alot lately.
  17. Thanks for the report! Did Cedric open his eyes during the 3 hours? When I saw them here he kept them shut for the entire show.
  18. _Spud: Let's have a full report on the camping weekend (with pics).
  19. The Broom of the System by Dave Foster Wallace
  20. (slightly off topic) Yamakashi: You might be interested in a book I read recently titled, " Running with the Buffaloes "; the author spent a season with the University of Colorado Boulder cross country team as they trained for the NCAAs.
