Try to make it as early as possible and the prices come down. From what I remember a few years ago prices increased around 18th Dec, then another big increase around 22nd/23rd Dec.

I have more of a problem getting up on time than getting to sleep, but usually a good read is good enough. The only time I have trouble sleeping is the night before I have to get up early for a flight and things like that. I'm too frightened to sleep, I always oversleep.

A local park in my area is now officially called "ザ・公園". What I want to know - if I was a Japanese parent and had a small child who asked me wtf "ザ" is, what do they answer? "It's English, Ken" "What does it mean?" "The" or "I don't know. Eigo wakaranai". "What does the mean" etc etc etc It's just plain daft.

Theres lots of coming and going in those places. Costs nothing to go though.
