griller replied to jeanniel's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I suppose not much snow being round has an effect as well. What's all this night photography and telephoto lens stuff? -
Own up, who is a celebrities among us
griller replied to thursday's topic in General off-topic discussions
I have seen some videos of that and it looked like fun. Why did it end, I got the impression it was very popular? I am a celebrity only in my street. The less attention I get in everyday life the better. -

Got the Casino Royale DVD yesterday and watched it last night. I really like it. High hopes for the next Bond. -

I used to be able to. I did cheat though by buying a guide I'd actually like to have another go at it, haven't touched one for ages. -
I haven't heard of one bobby12, though I'm having a bit of a bad time of it this season.

what's everybody listening to now?
griller replied to Dokumanju's topic in General off-topic discussions
My Japanese friend had some Elvis (yes that one) CDs and I thought I'd give them a listen. I am surprised at how much I like them - will be transferring to grillerPod to give them some more listens. -
Ishikawa 6強! Big one. Anyone in that area?

They are saying it is for "green" reasons - but most people see it for what it most likely is.... cutting costs. I would think that more problems will arise from doing that though - (more) unwanted litter on the streets, vermin + + Get 3 collections a week here - Mon, Wed and Fri.

Good Night and Good Luck. Looking forward to another Clooney one as well - The Good German. >>>>> This movie is an homage not only to the vocabulary of film noir , but also to its social and political genesis. Film Noir developed after World War II and was an outgrowth of both the cynicism that was generated by WW II because it turned out to need another war to be the war to end all wars.... and because of the enormous evil that World War II revealed in contradistinction to the sunny idealism of the American Project. Film Noir of the 40's and 50's was a rea -
I always think - not very. Then a friend of mine who is a stewardess told me a few shocking stories about just how unclean these things are. When you think about it they aren't going to be able to clean them properly when they just have a couple of hours between flights. Do they EVER get properly cleaned? My friend says that she strips off as soon as she gets home and takes a bath - no clothes worn at work go past the genkan. I'm getting more and more paranoid about things like this.

Family Skiing in Japan
griller replied to lizg13865's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Travel agents will want to sell you what they have. I think you'll have a great time at any number of places. There are ski schools that can do English in a few places now (check the link at the top for some). How about trying somewhere like Nozawa, Shiga Kogen and Hakuba - all in Nagano? They might be places worth looking into. Sticking around here, reading stuff and searching is certainly a good start! -

My friend is having a go. Until now the most she has ever run without stopping is 15km and the most in one go 30km. So she is going to be pushing herself with it, hope she doesn't get over enthusiastic.
