Spending (a LOT of) money on dates
kkk replied to HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher's topic in General off-topic discussions
I was just reading that as well. This bit made me laugh: "Just before any special event, like a birthday or Christmas, my girlfriend brings me a load of magazine clippings. They're ads for things like 80,000-yen Bulgari watches, 100,000-yen Louis Vuitton or Chanel bags and the like," Sakurai says. "Still, I don't mind. I don't want her to feel out of it in her workplace. Besides, the models in the clippings she brings me are always wearing pricier stuff than what she wants. I still reckon I'm lucky." (The article is here by the way.) -

Pig manure swamps German village A village in the German state of Bavaria is recovering after being flooded with liquid pig manure. A tank containing the fetid fertiliser burst, sending a deluge of porcine waste into the courtyards and streets of Elsa, police said. The sewage was half a metre (1.6ft) deep in places. "The village was swamped with green-brown liquid - the mother of all muck," police spokesman Rainer Prediger, from nearby Coburg, said. The tank held about 52,800 gallons (240,000 litres) of fertiliser, Reuters news agency reported. "It was not ver

Those cartoons that has offended Muslims so much....

Arab News - 03 February, 2006 Author: Ray Hanania This week, we witnessed the power of the Islamic and Arab worlds to bring a Western nation virtually to its knees. I was amazed at that power. This is over an issue that the nation’s government had nothing to do with. All I can wonder is why the Islamic and Arab world doesn’t harness that power more effectively and change policies that directly impact our causes and our beliefs? A newspaper in Denmark, Jyllands-Posten, published a series of cartoons that depicted the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a derogatory and libelou -
I have seen a few of those cartoons online and have obviously seen all the tv footage of the protests and the banners etc... What are peoples thoughts on this? Whilst watching the news footage of the protest in London, I really couldn't believe what I was readng on some of those signs, yet the cops were doing nothing about it. I know if I walked the streets with signs saying that all Muslims should die etc....I would be arrested. I just find the whole situation a bit ridiculous.

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is Politics?" Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I am the head of the family, so call me The Prime Minister Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government. We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People. The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class, and your baby brother, we will call him the Future. Now think about that and see if it makes sense." So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said. Later that night, he hears

Anoyone going to be watching much of the Olympics? (I'm not sure what channel they're going to be on - anyone?) What events you interested in? I always like seeing bobsleigh - coz I had a go (at a small one) when I was younger and I want to try it myself.

If I'm stressed out I usually like to be alone as much as possible. When I was younger I said something that got me fired from a job. (Only a summer part time thing but still I had a bit of a temper)
