Yeah, the resorts here are nothing to write home about but can be quite decent with good dumps of snow to cover the artifical. I usually go to Osorakan and Ohira(Geihoku Kokusai). Mizuho is great too just because of the park(halfpipe, a few tabletops, rails, and a spine... I think the snow quality is best at osorakan but it just so damn hard to get to. Like Sharon said unless you live close dont bother. There always seems to be a good crew from Fukuoka and Oita up there. Is that anybody on this board??

McConkey is a nutter - have you seen some of the crap that he does in FREEZE's stunt of the month? Last year, some dolt, lit his sled on fire and then jumped it off of a massive 100+ foot cliff... I hate tobacco. It stinks, taste like crap, wastes your money, looks disgusting, and many people just arent polite about it. Especially Japanese men... watch them down any street, platform, restaurant, etc. Its all the additives and chemicals from the damn companies that makes tobacco bad. A nice cigar is great. Picked up Harvest and Uprising at Powers this past summer for 500 yen each and then had a 1000yen discount - you can do the math. I just picked up The Realm by TGR, it might be a year or so old?? Anybody know? Its pretty sweet, lots of big mountain/heli and powder. Music is nice too.

Dont know about all the snow being gone up in Niseko but the ski resorts are open in Hiroshima!! Yup, Osorakan was sweet this past weekend!!! I bet we have more snow down here than up in Nagano or Hokkaido this year! Come on, this my place is better than your place is a little bit childish, isnt it?

Yup, I agree with Rach. Why would you wanna take the risk of further injury when the season is barely underway? Mogski, theres a lot of time left - relax for another week or two and head out when your strong. I would hate to go early and not go out again, than go out later and enjoy the ENTIRE season!!! I went up to Geihoku this weekend up in the mountains in Hiroshima and it was absolutly puking snow there!! The artificial base was already down but the tops of the mountains were completly covered! Let the winter season begin...

Beer and wine are my favorites! Love em both. Last night had a Sammy Smiths Taddy Porter with dinner - ummm, what a great beer that is. I like sake, especially atsukan in the winter under the kotatsu with some ski bunnies , and shouchu on the rocks in the summer.

Hate to be repetitive if this questions been out there but are there any resorts in Japan where you can take Avalanche courses - especially up in Hokkaido?? Cheers for your help!
