Ezo, Smith makes a nice goggle with a fan and it keeps em really clear Phantom is the one I have I think...it can be a bit loud, but it works. -

Oops, meant to type D300 - the D700 is outta meh range! Dont wanna spend 20Man on a camera body. Think the D300 is 5 fps but better than 3.

Heard of Biwako but never been. You could also do the fake snow at Rokko San as well, prolly dirt cheap and very easy to get to. -

I dont know if they have slides/sleds because I never looked, but Hachi Kita (Hyogo Ken) is probably the closest, and is accessible by bus from Osaka Stn if my memory serves correct. -
