  1. You're a bit harsh Fattwins. Niseko's not flat! Certainly not terrifying but enough steepness to have plenty of good turns and the awesome, fresh, dry pow makes up for a lack of real steepness in my humble opinion.
  2. Hey toque, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with your opinion, but the question was "best snow". I looked at it as not a terrain issue or any other point, just a pure snow rating. I did see the Niseko wink but I'd be a liar if said I'd got better snow anywhere else in the world.
  3. Oh toque to obviously identify Niseko as NOT where you got your best pow as opposed to any other ski field in Japan is bagging the place! Hey dude be honest with us all. What makes someone dislike a ski field so much?
  4. Niseko. Overnight 30cm dump of ultra dry pow. Clearest of clear mornings and did the asa ichi. Made more magic because I did it with my best friend. We still talk about it 5 years after it happened. Toque. Why do you always bag Niseko? Did you get your pass pulled there or something?
  5. If you could buy only 1 top of the line, no expences spared piece of snowboarding equipment, what would it be? I'm leaning towards a jacket myself but, I'm interested to know what others would do.
  6. You must be taking the piss Mogski. If not, then I don't agree with your comments about Niseko. Crowded? Have you ever skiied on Honshu? Lines and crowds in Niseko don't exist in comparison. Maybe you've been unlucky but, everytime I've been there I've had day after day of cutting fresh bottomless lines with nobody around. I agree with the lack of nightlife thing though, IT SUCKS!
  7. My DEELUXE by Raichle are the complete package. Ultimate performance, comfort, warmth and durability. Two years old with probably 50 days of boarding done in them and still goin strong. I'll never wear anything else. Buy them! You won't be disappointed.
  8. Who started this thread? Bad vibes man. Stay away from from all types of winter recreation dude!
  9. Heh Higuma. Any chance of an unbiased view? Give me quality, dry pow that's deep and fresh everyday, which you consistently get at Niseko, before any of those other irrelevent points you mentioned. Whistlers snow is just too inconsistent and of lower quality than Niseko. What else do you compare when talking about ski fields? I go to a ski field to board, everything else is of very little importance to me. If snow quality isn't rated top when discussing ski fields then it should be. Maybe for skiers it's different but for us boarders pow is what it's all about. Don't be to hasty to pump up Whi
  10. Can you compare the standard of MLB with the local boys at the park? Same deal. Whistler v Niseko. Although if we're talking straight snow quality, and I think that's the essence of our sport then Niseko eats Whistler alive.
  11. Check out "Milk" in Ebisu, Tokyo. Has good alternative, metal nights and live bands. Saw Regurgitator there years ago with only about 20 people present-awesome show!
  12. Kagura. Never really board anywhere else in Niigata. It's easy to get to, big and has quality off piste. I know what to expect and the where to get freshies. I should try other places though. Any suggestions??
  13. Niseko. Mid December. I was there at the same time last year and snow depth, conditions weren't a problem. Bring it on!
  14. I'll never go up the mountain again without my lid. Once had a skier fly down the mountain through a crowd a crash right into me. His unprotected head hit my shoulder so hard it knocked him straight out and down the mountain on the ambulance and left me with a bruise the size of a melon. A worst case scenario could have seen our heads clash instead of the shoulder and who knows where I'd be now. The next oppotunity I went and bought a helmet. The moral of the story is you don't have to be the one to make the mistake to end up in hospital or worse. Wear a lid! It's much warmer than a beanie, too
  15. How can people honestly rate Paris! I've never met such arrogant, cold people in all my life!I'll never go there again. The only city I've ever visited in the world where the locals couldn't give a rats about being friendly or welcoming in any form. The food and wines over-rated too.
  16. Perth-the best lifestyle and cleanest beaches in the world..... No snow though!
  17. My first day out this season will be December15th at Niseko. It doesn't get any better than this.
  18. I swear by my Mont Bell Goretex jacket, thermal under shirt and T-shirt over the top, even in Hokkaido.
