  1. Anyone have any advice on how to get from Nozowa to Shiga via train and/or bus? im hoping to avoid having to go from Nozowa back to nagano then out to Shiga. Cheers ffr
  2. Quote: I guess switching the VB for a Sapporo and sitting in an onsen rather than on somebody's patio is a major cultural experience for some... i think you need to give that some perspective... ive been skiing in jap a number of times now and i dont think ill ever forget the first onsen i had... sitting in an outdoor onsen with an asahi, while its dumping snow all around you and swapping stories with your mates from a days riding. cant beat it. so yes, for aussies this is something which is very foreign. especially, when sauna's are probably the only thing you would find in aussie ski reso
  3. Quote: went out for a few drinks at the White Horse, watched some Ski Porn and talked about fat chicks TJ @ the whitehorse give you some advice?
  4. Clickity Click "Australians and other foreign visitors could soon be fingerprinted and photographed when they arrive in Japan under a proposed law to fight terrorism." I guess all countries will one by one start doing the same...
  5. tanked. as in he tanked it big time off that booter when skiiers stack... one ski off = ejection both off = double ejection
  6. if your looking to do it backpacker style - speak to Mitch at Snowbeds. He is a top bloke, and theres always a really good crew staying there. Snowbeds
  7. 52cms of POW POW on happo overnight... fattwins give us the report, im sure it would have been epic out there today!
  8. Fattwins - me and a fellow SJer TJ OZ will be riding Happo and Hukuba in Jan/Feb we should catch up for a beer at snowed inn, and a few fresh tracks down happo.
  9. um... it would probably be about 400 + meters high, and would be a couple of km's long. but because it sticks out in the middle of nowhere, with no other mountains around it, it seems really big. Although there was some talk awhile ago that they were going to ban people climbing it because it was a sacred aboriginal place.
  10. Ayres Rock is unbelieveable. yes it is a big rock in the middle of Aust, but when you get there it has a certain aura about it that you can only understand by going there. ive climbed right to the top of it, and its amazing as you can see for miles out over the very harsh desert that surrounds it. probably one of the highlights of going there is watching the rock change colour when the sun sets - its really quite amazing, and quite hard to describe in words. If your going spend a bit of time in Aust I would reccommed visiting the Northern Territory.
  11. when theres a MILF involved - its your sworn duty to close the deal, and then tell all! may the force be with you. fr
  12. riding out of bounds is a lot like robbing a bank (to put it metaphocially) you plan what your going to do, make sure your crew is set, then get in there and do it, and then get the hell outta there as fast as you can! no hanging around admiring your lines or taking happy snaps. just tear it to the closest lift go the 'high 5' with your mates, and plan you next one on the way back up! that crew that ended up walking out... well, its probably a good thing and has taught them a lesson! they prob wont go there again. as for the patrol - they do have a job to do, and in all fairness a pretty serio
  13. nightclubs are a lil light on at 47, but if your looking for an excellent place for a few brewskis, free pool, and endless snowboarding vids check out Mitch's Bar, its call Snow'd Inn. Theres always a good crew there, and heaps of local knowledge of the best pow. Although the bar is a lil tricky to find, and if the cabbie isnt sure just rock up to Snow Beds Apparments and as where it is cheers fr
